Last Film You Saw

Just watched Time Trap...it was ok...a good idea but shit cast...typical irritating American teens. They enter a cave and time goes a lot slower inside than it does back outside the cave. a hour in the cave is like years outside. Could have been a LOT better but I still enjoyed it.

Every so often, there comes a film you can't place and most of those films are crap especially as they contain Nic Cage!

However, there comes a time when monkeys do complete a Shakespeare book and this is one of them! I'm not sure if Cage is a maelstrom in a reasonably strange story or the other way around.

So just take it as it is as there's a story in there, somewhere - maybe a moral, even- and you may just find it confusingly enjoyable.

Just finished watching Grave. (Mainly because the director has just won the Palme d'Or at Cannes for her latest, and I was intrigued). God but that's a hard watch. About halfway through, when a girl starts to eat a finger that she's accidentally chopped off her sister's hand with scissors, I thought, can I sit through this or am I going to turn it off.
She eats it with great relish – the camera lingers over it – and the finger looks very convincing.
I realise that younger people have developed very thick skins indeed about the depiction of violence and blood. Thicker than I'll ever be able to have.
Often an interesting film, has to be said, and well filmed, and acted. But it was at the limits of what I am prepared to watch.
By the way, I can watch outright horror films, because they're so over the top, that they can almost become amusing. This was something different.
