Last Film You Saw

Red Notice

Over-the-top action adventure heist movie. It's dumb and a lot convenient things happen to tie it all together. That said, it's a fairly easy movie to watched, Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds tend to make most of their films fairly enjoyable.

Ha, you sat through it. You must really love your other half.
Re Spencer
I second the above.
I'm flabbergasted that it's received any positive reviews.
Apart from an actress doing an impression of Diana during a period of mental illness, it has nothing going for it. If that's your cup of tea, fine. No story. Slow as fuck. Unrealistic Americanisation, surprisingly written by a good English writer - Steven Knight. Lucky him, getting paid for such crap.
No matter how much you love your partner, trust me - there's a limit; don't go; no amount of love is worth wasting 111 minutes of your life on this pile of absolute dogshit.
I read a review saying that Kristen Stewart might be Oscar nominated for it - it must be a very, very bad year.

I think I was born in the wrong decade. I love anything Art Deco - I can gaze for ages at images of buildings like picture palaces and railway station buildings built 1925-39. I particularly love Clarice Cliffe ceramics,so I was looking forward to The Colour Room on Sky Premiere.
It was, frankly, dull - too much irrelevant family background detail amid incomprehensible muttering and gabbling, with plenty of feminist stuff thrown in to make it "relevant" or "accessible" to modern sensibilities (although she did have to fight prejudice).
An hour-long programme about her life, and especially showing us the wonderfully vibrant colours of her product range, would have been far more interesting and enjoyable.

Watched The Nice Guys on Film4 last night.
Wasn’t fit to search anything out so just carried on with this.
Gosling & Crowe.

Bit errrrmn….& odd slapstick moments.
4/10.

Red Notice

Over-the-top action adventure heist movie with some big names. It's dumb and a lot convenient things happen to tieit all together. If you can chill and not expect anything too serious then it is possible to enjoy most of the movie.

6/10 - That's generous but it was nearly a 2 hour film which didn't drag so 5 felt too harsh.
Gave it a go earlier on. A bit meh, to be honest. A bit too many comedic bits and pieces in it for me. But I suppose, with Ryan Reynolds in it, you're always likely to get that. 6/10 for me.

Red Notice was exactly how I thought it’d be. 2 hours of nonsense but quite enjoyable nonetheless.
Probably helps that I quite like The Rock and Ryan Reynolds.
Not sure either will be making any speeches at the Oscars anytime soon though.. haha!

Tangerines
2015
In 1992, war rages in Abkhazia, a breakaway region of Georgia. An Estonian man Ivo has decided to stay behind and harvest his crops of tangerines. In a bloody conflict at his door, two wounded men are left behind, and Ivo takes them in to help them, but they are enemies.

Absolutely loved this film. Well made, well paced, great narrative. Like the recent Old Henry, it slowly drew me in.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Watching them all in preparation for the new one coming out, never really watched them before.

This is probably sacrilege but I thought it was bang average. I read some reviews and people considered it a funny film, honestly don't remembering laughing once. Maybe I'm the wrong generation for it. Don't think it holds up too well in this day and age either, Bill Murray comes across as a bit of a creep.

5/10

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

Another movie I watched in preparation for the new one in December. One of those spy action movies that is just dumb fun, the Kingsman movies do it well though. It's not as good as the first one but still an enjoyable movie, maybe a touch too long. Taron Egerton holds the lead role well.

It is almost FORTY years old, mate!
;-)

It’s like asking your kids to sit through a “Carry On” film!

It was a fun caper st the time. It’ll be interesting to see what Paul Rudd can do with the latest iteration.

Not my cuppa, but I thought the original was, well, original, and a bit of fun!
