Last Film You Saw

Never understand it when people say a film is too long. I can watch half a dozen one-hour episodes of a series in one afternoon and, having done so, often find films far too short and rushed.
I think it depends on how engaging the movie is. For example, Apocalypse Now has the same runtime as Babylon but you really wouldn't notice it as that movie is more exciting.

Watched Alive to cheer myself up. Ethan Hawke refusing to grow a beard ruins the whole movie. Also, eating anyone who smokes as much as that rugby team is the only thing that would put me off cannabilism...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

I've always felt the first one was overrated, and much preferred this one. Obviously if Superhero films aren't your thing then this isn't going to change your mind. For me they're at their best as fun action movies with something interesting to say, and this one fits the bill. Enjoyed it.

Gray Man

Bit of Bourne and Bond. Is Gosling made for this type of role.... Probably not but definitely got jacked for it, which adds to the intrigue/weirdness.

Started well, nice story and plot. Then absolute mayhem and stupidity.

Settled down again. Serious film or not? Not a fucking chance. Clearly a parody.

An over the top, dysfunctional film. But a decent amount of fun. Once you realise it's not serious, then you're better for it.
Im gonna sound like someone who complains about expensive footballers being crap, but what the hell did they spend £200m on making that ?

Personally thought it was poor, was like a script from a low budget straight to video action movie but with high budget explosions.

But each to their own.

I'd say a decent chunk of the budget went on the stars' salaries. The likes of Gosling, De Armas, Evans, Thornton, Page etc wouldn't come cheap. Hard to know what the makers of it were aiming for. It's not the worst film I've ever seen (not by a long, long way), but it was a bit of a mess. And, as you said, the script was poor.

After the absurd aeroplane scene, me and the missus just found it a bit of a laugh. Evans' character, at first was a prick, then became amusing.

When I read the synopsis I was disappointed Gosling was in it (not a fan) and I didn't think he'd suit such a role. Now I see why.
