Last Film You Saw

A bridge to far, watched it because i just found out my gym teacher at school in the seventies, was in the paras captured at Arnhem but escaped and got back. Good guy but not one you would mess with especially back in the seventies. Great performances, Edward Fox, Caine, Bogarde Gene Hackman, Connery, if you like old war movies one of the best.

"Alice, Darling"

Anna Kendrick attempts to stretch her acting chops beyond light, comedic roles here. The part is just about manageable as any further gravitas needed would have been beyond her, right now. The co-stars Wuni Mosaku (from 'Loki') and Kaniethiio Horn are the weight bearers and do a great job in balancing out this feature.

For me, in all a strangely unremarkable film, in many ways.

It's telegraphed which lends to its uninteresting factor, so much so, I wondered what the point of the film was... until the final parts of the closing act which, to me, ties the film up very nicely that what went on before was almost forgivable.

In fact, it was something I could relate to, in my forming years and so allows the rating of 'good', rather than 'great' film.

one of my favourite bits of a great film.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) - 7/10
It's Nicolas Cage playing himself and taking the piss out of himself, it's very self aware, doesn't take itself too seriously. Cage and Pedro Pascal are really good alongside each other, they have good chemistry and some good comedic moments.

Michael Clayton

A fantastic watch - Clooney would have easily won best actor in most other years save for a generation-best performance from DDL in, "There must be blood."

Tilda Swinton did win an oscar for her role in the film.

Highly recommended.
