Return To Nuke'em High. Fucking awful.

haha i like your taste, ive got the original on blu ray, not seen the new one yet.

"Happy Birthday to Me" batshit early 80s slasher movie. Also has one of the best posters from the era imo.

I watched this the other week along with April fools. April fools was much better, happy birthday to me was poor even by eighties slasher standards.

Just back from watching Calvary a black comedy (though more black than comic) starring Brendan Gleeson.

Absolutely brilliant. Same director actor collaboration as The Guard from a few years ago which was also great. However Calvary the better film. See it!

I'd give Brendan Gleeson the 2015 Oscar for this.

Don't get me wrong, I love a comedy horror. Watched hell baby recent and loved it.. along with 100 bloody acres, brilliant.

Bad taste was good also :-)

Bit bored so I've been pissing about on wiki and came across an interesting fact that QI would be proud of.
Can you name the actor who played a British war hero in a film about a famous battle in WW2. A battle in which he himself took part, but in the film he was played by another actor ?

Richard Todd in the longest day?

Audie Murphy went one better and played himself in "To Hell and Back*

Spot on GD, it must have been weird to act alongside someone who was playing yourself.

Murphy's military career was incredible. I remember watching one of his films and my mam telling me he won medals for bravery during the war. A quick check on wiki tells me that
"He was awarded every U.S. military combat award for valor available from the U.S. Army, and was decorated by France and Belgium"

Fuck me, that's some going, it includes the Medal of Honour too. Some of our members might be surprised to know that it's Americas version of the VC, and not just an xbox/ps3 game.
Most people won't remember him now, which is a shame. I do recall he was a bit of a midget though, and had to stand on a box during some scenes in his movies.

Just seen Noah, not sure what to think about it to be honest, it was too long, some of it was good, some dire, not sure about the costume department though, they definitely did not have Duffel Coats in them days but Noah had one on in the film.. ;-)
