Ex Machina: 8/10

Basically a 4 character, 4 act play on a movie budget...which is meant as a compliment.

Interesting take on Turing Test. You can tell everything is not quite right, but not sure how it will all end.

Stunning visuals, and I'm not just talking about Miss Vikander. The best set of legs you have ever seen on anyone, and not too bad on the eye in every other respect.

If I had a robot like her, well......

I wasn't going to but, finally, decided on taking in "Jupiter Ascending", the Wachowski Brothers s film, but curiosity peaked after remembering it had been 2 years since it had been filmed and a delayed year in release.

I can certainly see why now.

There are no doubting the visual aspects as the Wachowski Broth s have always been always to deliver in this area. What's limiting them, is their ability to finalise the whole story, where storyline, dialogue and visuals come together. I can't remember them ever doing this.

Had "The Matrix" ever been a stand alone film, it would have been their best, and closest, effort for this coveted marker. However, apart from the highly frenetic and colourful fight and ambient scenes, the storyline and dialogue, makes you wonder why you're even watching this complete nonsense of film making.

Won't go into it too much (I never do), but to say there is an absolute criminal waste of central characters and actors, that play second fiddle to the CGI, is an understatement! I would love to know what's on the cutting room floor!

The Wachowskis should be ashamed.
