1. Alan Ball , I was on holiday in Florida when he was appointed and was truly gutted, like others have said sold spine of the team Coton, Phelan, Curle, Flitcroft & Quinn and brought some truly dreadful replacements in, truly grateful to Stoke fans in what turned out to be Balls last game when they joined in with 'Ball out'
2. Stuart Pearce, took over in March 05 and had a honeymoon period which almost got us European football but within 12 months we lost at home to Wigan on the Saturday then lost FA Cup QF on Monday to West Ham which began a run of losing something like 11 of last 12, Pearce should have been dismissed at end of that season, the following season was absolutely no surprise at all, in fact the only surprise was that there were 3 worse teams than City, remember renewing season ticket for 07/08 and thought if Pearce is still manager on eve of new season then i'm giving it up.
3. Manuel Pellegrini , only criticism of his 1st season was playing a weak side in FA Cup QF at home to Wigan when we had a 2nd leg game at Barcelona coming up chasing a 2-0 deficit , feel we could have won domestic treble, as for last 2 years well for me they were 2 wasted years.
4. Mark Hughes, wasn't happy when he was appointed but felt he made some decent signings Vinnie, Zabba, SWP , NDJ but bought some shite too Ben Haim, felt after they gave him money in 2nd season they really should have backed him, met him on a couple of occasions and what a decent bloke he really is and has spoke highly of City.
5. Frank Clark , was delighted with his appointment and felt following the 2nd half of the 96/97 season we were going to challenge for promotion following season and couldn't believe how it went the opposite way did buy Horlock and sign a young lad called Nicky Weaver but there were Van Bleurk, Brannan , Scully and Bradbury but once we were humiliated at Edgeley Park and Gresty Road then beaten at home by Bury, even I couldn't stick up for Clark any longer
