Last night confirmed something for me.

Well lets just hope the decline is sooner rather than later. All the plastics have been coming out the woodwork since last night!

Hey don't get me wrong i'd love to see the bastards sink without a trace.Just think that some kind of investment or perhaps wealthy consortium will take them over before long.

For £1.1 billion?

Then you've got to get in new players, renew contracts, pay staff wages, probably replace Whiskey Nose etc.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock.

CTID up until the twats issued those bonds you where spot on. Since they've issued those bonds though the fuckers have basically turned themselves into a mini Bank of England. Something cataclysmically major like WW3 or an unprecedented global depression would have to happen to fuck the rags over now :-( .

My take on it...
United fans don't particularly care about the Carling Cup.The result was more about not losing face - and theres a major debate to be had there.

City didn't go for it by attacking them enough, especially at home.As a club the future is rosy but only if a top 4 league place is achieved this season.Otherwise the best players won't come -even for a kings ransom that is on offer.John Terry and Kaka have already proven that.Would Torres,Drogba etc come along if Champions League football wasn't on offer.
And as for Gary Cook.....

Was more gutted about going out of cup in the semi-finals and it didn't matter if it was the RAGS or any otner team.

This game meant so much more to them than any other Derby or Carling Cup game and they were desperate to stop us progressing.

We have top 4 and the FA cup to contain our season while they protest against the ownership of their club and the board in general (we've been their before).

This was the start and not the end of our adventure.

Maintain the big picture is a good message

The club has not been in any semi-final since the days of punk before this week. That alone is big progress. And the draw for the semi-final could just as easily been against Villa or Blackburn as it was le scum. So perhaps the next time the road to the final will be easier. Just have to keep making opportunities and eventually it falls into place.

Played well enough to get through last night. It took a last second goal to knock us off. I think United edged it over the two games. But a bounce here or there and the result may have swung. Were never out of it. Put aside all the injuries Mancini was carrying and United still have a more complete team up the middle of the park. City doesn't need an overhaul any longer. They just need a couple more pieces to the puzzle. What is needed most is a midfield player who can be a real consistent thread from back to front. No doubt the teams are getting closer in terms of caliber. And there is no doubt le scum are worried.

What would be most massive is to get 4th place. Opens huge chances in the transfer market.

They are scared.

They weren't cheers of a normal celebration, they were cheers of relief. This meant a lot more to them to win against us, than it did to get to the final of the "tin pot cup" as they once called it, y'know...that meaningless trophy nobody wants to win apparently?

The scoreline could have been a lot different if it wasn't for a fantastic save from Space Cake Man (Van Der Sar) and the red card offence of Smackhead blocking off Carlos / the referee failing to punish smackhead for also kicking Tevez's leg in the box. Sure they had more chances and Shay was superb again (at times).

We're not far away and they'll be other occasions like this in the not too distant future. Relax and look at the wider picture. Sure it hurts, I'm gutted aswell, but end of the day our future is bright while they have £716,000,000 debt hanging over their heads with average players (Team Rooney FC) and aging players (Giggs / Scholes / VDS) and players wanting to leave. It's a waiting game - it's when, not if. They know it, we know it, everyone in the league knows that they're on a downward spiral - their position, in my books, is a lie and it'll be confirmed when Chelsea win the league.

Come on ladies and gents, we've got the F.A. Cup and we've got the fourth position to have a good go at. Lets move onwards and upwards eh? Chin up because the lads need us on Sunday!
i agree mate CTID

History has a habit of repeating itself. Most clubs decline when a new manager steps in, replacing one that has had longevity and attained almost iconic status (for their own fans). This happened after Mercer, Shankly and Busby. Paisley did well with the scouse but such were the strong foundations there then.

The thing with fergiescum is that his going will be at the same time as the likes of Scholes, Van der Sar and Giggs are reaching the end of their careers and a player like Rooney may be coming to the time when they think a change might be good.

Coupled with the financial situation that job is going to be a poisoned chalice for anyone brave or silly enough to take it on.

For me, Liverpool are actually a better team than them at the moment. It's just that Gerrard and Torres keep getting injured, while their star man(Rooney) has stayed fit. Luck, as ever, has played a big part for the rags this season.

The debt grows every day, wealthy consortiums would have known for a long time about the debt yet did nothing...why would they wait for the debt to grow by many millions b4 putting in an offer ?? thats not how it works..

you obtain something for the cheapest price not the most expensive...and by god are they expensive..No money to be made, especially if Twatinis plans come into force... all the revenue would have to be spent on players...not on paying back investors.

i agree, but think any potential investors (if any) will/would come when there at the ''leeds'' stage, truly fucked! Won nowt for years and are worthless! i personally would like to see them struggle rather than rot in the next few years, a few easy six points a season would be funny i cant fuckin wait!
