Stockdale was dire against City last season, the Foden the shot from 25 yards more or less straight at him and he played all around it, looked like a mid-40s keeper in a charity game.

I think Stanley's change in luck yesterday will stop Monday being a big as a formality as expected, even though it is the biggest home banker in the league by far, not many 12/1's in league 1.
The Foden shot you mentioned are the ones that have been his achilles heel this season.

Regarding Stanley being a formality on Monday, I think you're right I don't see us putting up much of a fight ;)

Still think there are more twists to come ...........the pressure will be in Ipswich and Plymouth to get the job done let’s see how they handle it when it matters ......... still got a feeling the Plymouth will have a wobble ...........
It’s arrive the wobbly end of the season both teams with pressure to get the job done may be enter a phase when they don’t need it ............. look what happened to Plymouth last season the blew up at the wrong time ......... Exeter away for them next and they will be fired up to dent there nearest and dearest chances of promotion

Wasn't a brilliant performance but at this stage of the season a win is a win.

Obviously no Wednesday game would be complete with 2 players coming back from injury but 2 more going off :)

Hopefully it's nothing too serious

Exeter look like the king makers: lost to Argyle today but will hopefully do thier Devon neighbours a favour by beating Wednesday and Ipswich.

Oh @West Yorks Owl

It’s not looking good. 1 win in 8 is it now?

It's over, we've hit a wall

There's no way we can finish above Plymouth/Ipswich now and with Barnsley coming like a train we will finish 4th.

Most like then play Bolton over 2 legs who are on a good run, no team does well in the playoffs without momentum.

We won't get past the semi-final stage again.

Follow that with another summer of change

It's easy to blame the injuries to key players, but the ones coming in haven't stepped up and the thing that was getting us through games ie being solid at the back has gone out of the window.

Cambridge beat Peterborough, so that’s a bit of a hope spot for them. They’re not out of the woods yet though.

Also holy SHIT Forest Green are awful. Maybe our fans will realise now Ferguson isn’t the second coming of Howard Kendall.

They'd not won in 2023, Sheffield Wednesday roll into town, put in an abject performance 1-0 to FGR.

Since then they've lost every game conceded 10 and scored 1, culminating in relegation back to League 2 yesterday.

It's the hope that kills you :)

They win a piss poor league 2 last season so I think whoever was gonna come in was always gonna struggle ........... I think the best time to judge him is when he’s had a full season not taking on somebody’s mess ............. as for Wednesday I simply don’t know what to say I went when they played Plymouth and thought they would piss the league but they’ve really hit poor form at the wrong time ........... still there still within have a chance if they can actually pick up again but that sadly looks unlikely

Perhaps their players have grown tired of Tofu and Oatmilk?

Jeez this league puts you through the ringer!!

Winning 0-2 at HT @ Bristol Rovers, Ipswich losing at home to Port Vale, Plymouth drawing 0-0 @ Shrewsbury back to the top of the league.

1 minute into the 2nd half we concede......here we go 5 mins later we lose another player to injury. Ipswich equalise, Plymouth go 1-0 down.

Plymouth equalise with 25 to go, Ipswich get a pen with 6 mins remaining and win 2-1, we hang on for a nervy 1-2 (Rovers had a goal disallowed for offside on the 80th min), Plymouth then score 90+6 to win the game.

So we stay as we were pre-kick off

Plymouth 89 (P42)
Ipswich 88 (P42)
Wednesday 87 (P43)

All we can do is attempt to win our remaining 3 games and hope somebody slips up.

After tonight though Plymouth are slight favourites over Ipswich as they have 3 at home and 1 away, whereas Ipswich have the opposite including their next 2 against Peterborough (5th) & Barnsley (4th)

Both Plymouth and Ipswich went a goal down yesterday but managed late winners. Wednesday seem to have hit a wall in that respect and you wouldn't fancy them once they're behind. Shame, they went all that time unbeaten and hit a bad patch at the worst possible time.

Everybody said Plymouth would fall away but out of the 3 they have been in the top 2 the longest so fair play to them.

Think that Forest Green game will come back to haunt us, maybe for years to come.

So that's that then!

Bar a massive collapse (I mean who'd do that!!!) Plymouth & Ipswich are promoted and we are in the playoffs.

Fair play to them both, Ipswich have taken 37 points our of the last 39 which in any division is amazing, and when Plymouth have had a set back they have just bounced back.

I hope Argyle win the league as I think they deserve it.

For us if it's Derby (which would mean we play them 3 games on the trot) I don't think we'll get through to the final, in fact if it is Derby I have a sneaky feeling they could win it.

Argyle have certainly recovered from a major wobble. The humiliation at Wembley could have destroyed their chances. Still a long way to go before Plymouth can lose its tag of the largest city in the UK never to have had a top flight club! Green Army!!
