If he played the kids tonight and we lost then he'd get castigated by plenty on here too. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Hopefully there's a compromise whereby a couple of youngsters (say Iheanacho and Roberts) could start, with others on the bench.

Pardew will probably fancy his chances of going to Wembley after the results tonight so the chances of City facing a weakened team have gone down.

I hope City don't underestimate Palace. They weren't great at Selhurst, but they are well set up to counter attack and they've won something like 10 out of the last 13 away games.

If we are playing the strongest team possible, I hope that includes Iheanacho and that the senior players are up for it....not like Arsenal at Wednesday

The Capital One Cup is a complete no win situation for any manager. Wenger getting a slating this morning for playing the kids.

if MP plays the kids and we lose, he will share a similar fate. If he plays the likes of KdB and he gets injured, he'll be drawn and quartered.

At the end of the day, this club is in no position to pick and choose which trophies it wants to win. Pick a strong team and win the game. If players get injured, they get injured, that's football.

Caballero, Zabba, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov, Yaya, Fernando, KdB, Sterling, Navas, Kelechi.

I'd be looking at getting KdB and Yaya off the pitch at the earliest opportunity however. Shame Delph and Nasri aren't fit.

Spot on

I'd much rather he play 3 or 4 youngsters and go out then the way we've gone out in previous years.

If they don't get a chance in the league cup when exactly will they?? Next year's pre season friendlies probably.

There has to be a time where we take a chance on them.

Arsenal played a strong team but they weren't up fot it.

See the headline on BBC Football....."Arsene Wenger 'used too many senior players' in League Cup exit"

When asked about the youngsters that he played he said "the level is too high for them, they are not ready, none of them"

i think Pellers will tend towards stronger teams anyway but i wonder if the defeats of Arse and Chavski will influence our selection? not through fear but through an increasingly better chance of winning the thing. maybe.

still think there will be a bit of rotation though, including MDM, Navas and Zaba definite starts
