Took my son with me yesterday for his first ever trip to Wembley. Had a brilliant day, with the additional bonus of actually being able to remember it for once!
Thought we were pretty poor in the first half, but it was a superb finish from Aguero to give us the lead. Nice to see Bravo get an assist too, hopefully his performance vindicated Guardiola's decision and will put an end to some of the over the top criticism he receives. Second half we were much better, and completely outplayed Arsenal, who were admittedly awful. Couldn't have gone much better with the stalwarts Aguero, Kompany and Silva getting the goals. Only thing that could've topped it would have been a red card for Wilshere, the loathsome prick.
Your son will have many many days like that to come I hope. On the goals - a lot was said on radio as I drove home about City's spending but if anyone says anything all Blues should remember this:
Kompany arrived before the takeover and only cost less than £8m; Silva arrived in 2010 before any of the trophies and cost less than £26m and Aguero cost £28.5m (see https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...news/revealed-how-much-sergio-aguero-11084421 for details on that), meaning that each had cost less than the £30m Utd spent on defender Rio Ferdinand way back in July 2002. Worth also remembering that Veron had cost Utd £28.1m back in 2001. Football transfers are ridiculous, but City didn't create this situation and I think that every one of those 3 City players has demonstrated time and time again to be great value - bargain purchases!
