League Cup final tickets

They are saying we didn't sell out in our cup finals last season.
C#### the lot of them.

Meh, they've not been with the big boys for a few years and believe the media shit. From what I can remember we've sold out every final or near as damn it but I could be wrong.

I did notice one of the replies identified the expense if we didn't sell out.

We've sold out every cup final at the new Wembley, and in some cases took an extra allocation and sold those too - Wigan in 2013 where we were given thousands of extra tickets from their allocation, and Chelsea in the League Cup last year (granted, both clubs received extra tickets from the neutral allocation for that one).

We didn't sell out the Brighton semi last year which is well documented, but what isn't as well documented is that United didn't sell out their semi against Everton in 2016

When you look at where the criteria is currently, I think this has been selling pretty well. We can't have more than about 15000 on the LC scheme and 20000 tickets have shifted already, despite thousands of season ticket holders still not being eligible to buy. When you look at the small drops in selling criteria from 7500 points down for seasoncard holders not on the cup scheme, that would indicate that there are a lot of fans on 7500 points or less. A mate of mine has been a seasoncard holder since 1990 and I think he only becomes eligible today

Crazy really you'd have thought with non-cup schemers bring eligible from Friday that my close of business on Monday we'd have been open to all S/C holders.

We do seem to drag this stuff out sometimes.

The Wigan game was probably our largest ever domestic 'away' following.

Guys best place near Wembley to park plz always gone by train or coach...going on Saturday coming back Sunday....one of my mates driving I'll be slurping...cheers.

When your a club that's been in the championship for five years and then get back to the premier league and fight relegation then added to the fact they havent won anything for years a league cup final becomes a huge thing for them. We've been to Wembley 16 times in 9 years if you count community sheids and semi finals so the excitement isn't quite the same but we will sell out but villa fans don't have the expense of playing in the champions league against Real coming up and having to fork out £85 quid for that plus £80 on the final ticket plus £60 on the coach for me and my grandson so its pretty obvious tickets will move slower than Villa's!

Their fan forum is Villatalk. I scanned through and couldn't find a topic for it.

Their sales criteria is tighter than ours. Still on season tickets until the 18th Feb so perhaps they think that a higher proportion of their season ticket holders will go. They should really given that we've been about 15 times since 2010.

I beg to differ on that Marvin. If you look at the first page of this link - https://www.villatalk.com/topic/19915-tickets/page/2/ - they were letting anyone who has been a season ticket holder each year since at least the 2015/16 season to buy tickets from the off. Even accounting for the fact that 2015/16 was the year they were relegated and their support was falling off a cliff (any lurking Villa fans - that's not a dig by the way as it was a truly miserable season for you), then you'd have to think that's a good 15000-18000 fans who were eligible to buy on the first day of sale. And while they're on sale to season ticket holders until a later date than ours, they're currently on sale to all Villa season ticket holders, whereas ours aren't.

True enough. I had a look at the thread on VillaTalk and to be honest it was literally one fan who was saying we didn't sell out in the FA Cup last year. They seem more miffed about the way their own club is selling the tickets.

I have got a hotel room booked at the Wembley Holiday Inn on Saturday 29 February but now unable to go so willing to sell this to someone on the forum. I paid £133 for the room (1 x double bed, and sofa bed) and this has been prepaid in full.

Please PM me if you are interested and I will get the name of the booking changed.
