Classic Wednesday!
Leading twice only to go on and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Oxford are decent at home but after taking an early lead we had several chances to increase but failed to take. Also had a penalty turned down that their manager said was stonewall.
They equalise on the stroke of HT and you can see how this pans out.
Oxford were a lot better 2nd half but we again we managed to take the lead with a well worked goal, and similar to our 4th against Plymouth they equalised nearly straight from the kick off, poor defending from us in my eyes.
Then it was back & forth who got the winner, happened to be the home team with an ex-owl scoring the winner in Sam Winnall, and he wildly celebrated, can't blame him coming to us probably ruined a flourishly career at championship level.
Still we had 2 or 3 good chances to equalise but failed to take them.
5 of our next 6 games are at home and if we are serious about the playoffs then we really need to start putting a run together. We have only won 2 games on the trot twice this season which tells you all you need to know.
Elsewhere Wigan have gone top on 54 points along with Sunderland (54) & Rotherham (53) but the Latics have 4 games in hand on some teams. Wycome lost at Fleetwood in a similar manner to us leading twice. MK Dons lost at home to Doncaster Rovers which was a coupon buster (don't I know it) and Oxford take the last playoff place.
Plymouth seem to be having a hangover after Ryan Lowe's departure to Preston losing at home to Lincoln.
There is rumours of a takeover at our place, but until it looks more than random accounts on Twitter I'll hold my judgement.
