League One Thread - 2021/22 | Sunderland promoted

Add to that one of our better loan players Theo Corbeanu was recalled by Wolves, and sent out to MK Dons due to lack of game time. It's fair to say the natives were restless and I feared the worst.
Scored a cracking goal also. We’ve recalled a number of loans where they haven’t been getting game time so Theo wasn’t the only one.

Wigan and yoyoyo Rotherham to go straight after that anyone’s guess the two big hitters Wednesday and Sunderland threaten to do something then just fall apart ............ hope to god we can muster some kind of run together and get into League one at least we would welcome some decent away followings down to Valley Parade .......... I mean local Derby on Saturday saw Salford bring a massive 238 fans to VP :( really is depressing

I think Wigan & Rotherham for top 2 as well, we're too inconsistent in my eyes to get in the playoffs.

Depending on who the 4 are who get in, Sunderland would be massive favourites but I would fancy MK Dons as the dark horse.

I'd like you to come up too, always look out for your results you seem to be like us one step forward 2 back etc.

I hope you both go up. Always enjoyed trips to both grounds and never had any bother.

Classic Wednesday!

Leading twice only to go on and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Oxford are decent at home but after taking an early lead we had several chances to increase but failed to take. Also had a penalty turned down that their manager said was stonewall.

They equalise on the stroke of HT and you can see how this pans out.

Oxford were a lot better 2nd half but we again we managed to take the lead with a well worked goal, and similar to our 4th against Plymouth they equalised nearly straight from the kick off, poor defending from us in my eyes.

Then it was back & forth who got the winner, happened to be the home team with an ex-owl scoring the winner in Sam Winnall, and he wildly celebrated, can't blame him coming to us probably ruined a flourishly career at championship level.

Still we had 2 or 3 good chances to equalise but failed to take them.

5 of our next 6 games are at home and if we are serious about the playoffs then we really need to start putting a run together. We have only won 2 games on the trot twice this season which tells you all you need to know.

Elsewhere Wigan have gone top on 54 points along with Sunderland (54) & Rotherham (53) but the Latics have 4 games in hand on some teams. Wycome lost at Fleetwood in a similar manner to us leading twice. MK Dons lost at home to Doncaster Rovers which was a coupon buster (don't I know it) and Oxford take the last playoff place.

Plymouth seem to be having a hangover after Ryan Lowe's departure to Preston losing at home to Lincoln.

There is rumours of a takeover at our place, but until it looks more than random accounts on Twitter I'll hold my judgement.

Exeter supporters will enjoy Argyle losing, especially as the Grecians won their game.

Hard fought win 1-0 over inform Ipswich Town today, I thought they looked pretty tidy and probably the best team I've seen at Hillsborough (I missed the Sunderland game due to work)

In saying that they didn't have a shot on target all game and despite us having only around 40% possession we could and should have won more convincingly.

We've brought in Harlee Dean (Birmingham) & Jordan Storey (PNE) recently due to having all our CB's crocked and they really made a difference today. It is Groundhog Day but we need to put a run together if we have a hope of the playoffs, 6 points behind but 2 games in hand on some teams.

Elsewhere (and as discussed in the Sunderland thread) a bad day at the office for the Mackems, they do tend to be Jekyll & Hyde at times and when they lose they lose. Wigan suprisingly dropped points at Cheltenham, and Rotherham march on.

MK Dons won 0-1 @ Wycombe and go above them in the table, like I've said before could be real dark horse in the playoffs.

Fair play to Ipswich who brought around 3000 today, and helped us have the biggest attendance in the EFL (23,517)

Morecambe at home up next on Tuesday night.
