Out of interest why have you decided on Granada in Spain?

Because i like Andalucia, and if i went to costa del sol i'd only improve my scouse, and i've been to Barcelona, and i know that Granada is a beautiful place, and has a big universidad according to a spanish friend of mine.

Will you be looking for work when you get there or living the 'high life' ;-)

I've been looking for male au pair agencies to be honest, but i shall not be living the high life, im going to learn the language, so i wouldnt mind working in a back street bar.

Working in a bar would be a fantastic way to learn, had a Persian friend here in Bolivia who started in a bar, took him 6 weeks to learn the language, however he already spoke 5 languages so found number 6 easy!

I made friends here by learning how to play their card games, I hadn't noticed but it was pointed out to me the other day that when they get a 'bad' card they now say 'bollocks shit card!'

I'm going to night classes this month to start learning Spanish. I know a little bit already and enjoy visiting Spain and don't do too badly getting understood but really I do consider myself a beginner. There's no doubt I will see it through and won't drop out.

I wondered if anyone else was doing the same and wanted to compare notes?

With a second language the more you do it the easier it becomes, sounds obvious i know, but things like watching Spanish tv listening to Spanish radio and things like that, when i was doing polish lessons a couple of years ago I even changed my sat nav to polish, after a while it just drops in .
