Leaving the game early

I mean it's fuckall to do with how good or shit the team is. People who have work in the morning will always leave night matches early while it's such a nightmare to get away from the ground quickly. I understand it. Now people leaving Saturday matches early to have an extra pint yeah that's crazy to me.
Agree. The thing is though, from my experience in the SS, it's the same people who arrive and leave early regardless of the day or time of kickoff.

After the champions league final in 2021 not one player came over to the fans and the manager stayed on the half way line feeling sorry for himself. Maybe still social distancing. They only come over when it suits them so the fans owe them nothing.
Disagree with that completely, we've lost 5 away games over the past month and every single one of them, most of the players as well as Pep came over to clap the fans.

Fans have longer memories than 5 weeks though. When we lost key games it was only Lescott and Hart who came over in the title run in, better PR now and instructions. The 2021 final they clearly were not instructed and showed the real attitude towards the fans.

I left early last night cos it took me 3 hours door to door to get there and I had to be up early. Left on 87 mins and got abused for doing so!!!

I prefer to stay and clap the lads off, always have, but thats my perogative.

Out of a crowd of 50k plus at night games, there will be lots of reasons people leave early, kids bedtime, car parking, work early etc. That's their perogative and none of my business. Not sure why some people have a massive bug up their arse about it.

I use the tfgm matchday bus these days, fuck driving in that traffic, paying a fortune to park, delayed getaway, less of a mither too.

I left early yesterday as was at the match with my 12 and 7 year old and we all travelled on the tram, leaving early is essential for their safety as the ques and volume of people coupled with lack of proper capacity makes a dangerous scenario if waiting for the match to finish to leave. Until there is a fit for purpose infrastructure around the stadium I will continue to do so.

Have to take your word for that, I left early :-)

It doesn’t matter what game it is, what day it is or what time it’s played. The leavers leave at the same time every match.

It’s ingrained into them.

I'm not going to hold a grudge for how players used to act 10 years ago. The fact is the past few years, I can't think of may games at all where the players haven't come and clapped the fans.

So even if they didn't 10 years ago, they've obviously changed it for the better.

I don't think there is a perfect kick off time. Even on the much touted 3pm Saturday kick offs there are late arrivals and early leavers. I appreciate that night matches add their own difficulties. For me personally the 19.30 is preferable to the 20.00 due to transport issues.
As you say, there are huge numbers or attendees at these matches now, some are always going to leave early just to get ahead start on everyone else. I feel for the players and for the club, it's not really a good look.
I always walk back to Piccadilly whereas the bloke next to me shares a lift with 2-3 others and always mentions "beating the traffic" as justification for leaving before the end

However when we played Liverpool last season he announced that he was staying in Manchester after the game and meeting his wife and a few other friends for a few drinks etc

It was an early kick off and we agreed to walk back together.
There was no rush whatsoever, but with a few minutes remaining he got up and expressed complete astonishment when I said "WE CAN STILL WIN THIS"
I mean it's not as though we've ever won an important game with a late goal.

It's just ingrained in his mind and he was even tutting about the bottleneck at the 219 exit, which probably slowed us down by 60 seconds.

No use arguing with that mindset
