Leeds (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

He can fuck right off right now as far as I’m concerned.
Complete waste of money. Should’ve kept Lavia and let the turd rot in the land that time forgot.
You're possibly being a little bit too harsh, but it feels like Phillips doesn't feel like he belongs at City. It's almost like he's someone who has won a competition to play for an elite side. I don't really have a problem with him acknowledging the Leeds fans, but blowing kisses is perhaps taking it too far.

You’re right. Over the top post from me. I’ll delete

We were poor in thinking in that second half today, far to relaxed thinking we'd already won.

The penalty "carry on", I said right away he'd miss, and that leeds would score as we'd let it stay 2-0, 2-0 is a dangerous score going into the last few minutes, I think we were fortunate that only 4 minutes were added, though leeds didn't really look particularly threatening really.

Grateful we won it in the end, but I was really annoyed with how it panned out.

Whatever, we think of Leeds as a club, their current players have spent the last few years trying to play good football. But the SA game doesn't come naturally to this group of players and they seemed stuck between his tactics and doing what they do without thinking. We were in second gear - I can't see us being as wasteful in our remaining games. Arsenal fans would have been tuning in towards the end with their hopes raised - only to have their balloon well and truly burst.

City since being charged by the PL and since Pep’s sensational press conference where he defended the club admirably:

WWDDWWWWWWWWWWDWWWWW

They lit the fire.
Is that the one were he namechecked Daniel Levy? I wonder how he has been getting on.

Could he be the new Fabian Delph; a player who looked out of his depth but gave us a few good seasons?

Being from Leeds, maybe Jim fixed it for him to join the champions

He could well be, but he's shown a lot less than Delph. I think Delph had a gritty mentality that I haven't yet seen in Phillips. I'll be honest, of all the players who've started slowly under Pep, none have looked as out of their depth as Phillips. If we get good, reliable performances from him in time then it will be the biggest turnaround of all of Pep's signings.

I couldn't understand the easing off in the 2nd half seeing as half today's line-up will be back on the bench on Tuesday. Still, 3pts so onwards and upwards.
A bit disappointed with Foden today, barely tried to take his man on at all, unlike Grealish when he starts.
