Leeds (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

He could well be, but he's shown a lot less than Delph. I think Delph had a gritty mentality that I haven't yet seen in Phillips. I'll be honest, of all the players who've started slowly under Pep, none have looked as out of their depth as Phillips. If we get good, reliable performances from him in time then it will be the biggest turnaround of all of Pep's signings.
My big worry about Phillips is that Leeds fans have said he takes a few games to get up to speed after being out of the side for any reason. If he's an understudy to Rodri then he's never going to get a run of games.

Unless Rodri gets injured, then no. My own feeling is that we should sell if we get back roughly what we paid for him. Pep has intimated that he needs to believe that he belongs at City. That suggests he's got to work on the mental side of the game.

I couldn't understand the easing off in the 2nd half seeing as half today's line-up will be back on the bench on Tuesday. Still, 3pts so onwards and upwards.
A bit disappointed with Foden today, barely tried to take his man on at all, unlike Grealish when he starts.
That’s why the G dog is first choice these days

What was it with Phillips going over to the Leeds fans - blowing kisses… etc. I think he needs to focus on the job in hand… he’s joined our team and contributed next to fuck all.
He has moved physically but not mentally it seems. Part of the Leeds setup for 12 years so he is obviously still Leeds and proud of it

It was recklass for me, the second half was pretty much a disgrace from the 11 on the pitch, given that most will not be playing on Tuesday night.

I hope Pep read them the riot act after they left the pitch, it was complacency that was misplaced, luckily we got away with it today.

3 points. Not too many miles in the legs and plenty of key players either rested or getting minutes to get sharpness back. only Concern is Ake. Big doubt for Tuesday!

Pep was not happy with Erling for his sentiment was he? :-)
Nor apparently with Gundog! Ah well we won. That’s the main point.
Rightly so, no game is ever won at 2-0, even at 85 minutes, I was fuming, and I said what would happen to a nearby fan, he'd miss, and they would score immediately, sadly I was right.

Stupid from both of them for me.
