Which maybe, just maybe, was the reason for the team selection?Wolves at home straight after the derby. Not Dortmund away then Chelsea at Wembley.
At least we don't have to play on our shit pitch.
Spot on mate - my thinking entirely. Those early very straightforward chances go in and we win 4 - 2/4 - 1 and everyone agrees 'Did more than enough to win'.Difficult to argue with stupid but I’ll try. You are aware we have played twice a week all season? I’m going to answer ‘yes’ for you. You are aware we have a CL Quarter Final on Wednesday and an FA Cup Semi Final at the weekend? Again, yes. We also have a large lead in the league and it does not matter whether we win the league by 18 points or by 8. With all that in mind it was 100% right to rest as many as we could today. No different to the several other times this season we’ve had that same approach. And in fact we normally make 5 or 6 changes anyway. Today was 7.
The only way to rest 3 of Foden, KDB, Gundogan and Bernardo was to play Zinchenko in midfield. That meant Mendy left back as one of Cancelo and Walker was always going to be rested. Dias rested was a no brainer, and Laporte is injured, so Ake and Stones the obvious picks. Fernandinho no brainer. Zinchenko as I’ve already said. Bernardo was the freshest of the main midfielders, so he played. Aguero injured so obviously Jesus started. Sterling and Torres were the two benched wingers v Dortmund so obviously they come in.
The team was bang on. The result doesn’t change that. Losses can happen in football. We deserved to win but Leeds were far more clinical on the day, 2 shots 2 goals, fair play to them. But Pep called the team perfectly considering what is coming up this week.
Bournemouth v Coventry is 1-1 after 2m30s both sides have had a shot and both have scored. Our 4 losses in the league: (city stat first)

On Target 5/7
Spurs
Shots 22/5
On Target 5/2
Scum
Shots 23/8
On Target 6/6
Leeds

Damning...1 goal every 30 shots in those 4 losses v 1 in 2 against!
but they scored on both their chances, and only conceded one goal with 10 men. idk what you would describe that as other than well played?¿??????? Well played? They offered next to fuck all

Every press conference Pep talks about worrying about one game at a time. The team he put out today suggested that he has all eyes on Dortmund. The priority should always be the league.
On the contrary, it was exactly what I expected. Our second eleven is piss poor.Well that was unexpected
Bielsa was pulling up his trunks just before he went to be interviewed, Wonder what was going on....Has Pep said how brilliant leeds and Bielsa are yet?
