Leeds (H) | Post Match Thread

The Mendy that played against us a few years ago was dynamic, probably average in terms of pace from a standing start or on the turn with a decent variety of crosses. The injury has robbed him of whatever he had. We were all (or most of us) happy with what we saw pre-injury. Now, the opponent doesn't have to be quick to run past him.
Totally agree - the telling point was when pep put zinchenko at LB, clearly didn’t trust mendy - mendy is finished at city

Careful Bill we have a sensitive one here, remember mate you only say positive stuff about city on here nothing negative. Its the reason I stopped coming on here
You haven’t been missed.
yep, full of happy clappy JCL's.
truth hurts .
Theres quite a lot to be happy about this season so forgive some of us for not falling apart just because we lost a game.

I don't blame Pep for today, that side should still have been good enough to beat a 10 man mid table side.
The players let him down today, they had a chance to stake their claim but they didn't take it.
Pep knows now the players he can trust and who from now on will be squad fillers at best.

Pep I don’t think We lost because of the defence.

we lost against 10 men as our 4 attacking players never stepped up

torres did nowt apart from the goal
bernardo has became the invisible man again
jesus our number 2 striker, when he plays doesn’t like to even play striker. Will do anything but get in the box.
Sterling his decline is alarming. Lost all confidence in beating his man he just kicks it at them and runs into them and his shooting is like under 8s shooting.

I know pep tinkered but upfront the guys given a chance didn’t take it.
well done Leeds with 10 men.
A game for Jesus and Sterling to step up, they both failed badly and Torres not far behind.

That team was good enough to beat Leeds, especially ten man Leeds but it didn't and Leeds scored with their only two shots of the game. We on the other hand had 29 shots in the game, only seven of which were on target and only one was good enough to end up in the back of the net. We had the ball over 70% of the time and couldn't beat ten men. Leeds excelled themselves quite obviously but there have to be other reasons to explain why this is yet another case of City being unable to beat sides leading us 1-0 at half time.

What I find alarming is the way the creativity of the team seems to vanish when KdB is not in the team, along with penetration when Phil Foden doesn't play. Raheem seems to have lost his ability to go past his man and his finishing, so good for the last couple of years, is nearly always off target or blocked. Torres is in his first season so we shouldn't be too harsh but he seems far better in the area rather than out wide. So today we were unconvincing up front and left ourselves far too light at the back and the result was an acute case of deja vu - a game dominated by a City side unable to score against a well organised defence, lost to two sucker punch goals.

Total frustration.

We didn't have many great chances at all today though was all speculative shots from distance or crosses

Just like Sept to Nov

Rotation was always going to be an issue, Mendy was shocking, Sterling was beyond belief, Jesus every shot gets blocked.
When they went to ten men our team management was piss poor, went from lumping every cross in to not crossing at all. Stones was walking through and kdb should of been doing the same.
let’s be honest, they nearly won it earlier and we didn’t.
