I'd expected the match and all sport in Britain to be cancelled tomorrow out of respect for Prince Philp. Shows how out of touch I am with the ways of the world in the 21st century. Let's hope they'll bow heads and do a minute's respectful silence before kick-off. Farewell, you fine old bugger.

(Will that be followed by taking the knee?)

Make what you make of it but these are the training pictures put out by City today “in prep for Leeds” ...

Sterling, Torres, Mendy, Jesus, the seniors (as we have been saying, second thing at the moment) and then you’ve got Delap, Doyle and all the kids ...

Here ‘tis.
A very thoughtful and informative lowdown on the showdown coming at you at a measured and leisurely pace
Hat’s off to Bernard - give the man a thumbs up & a follow - you know he deserves it :-)

Peps great and hope he stays for along time. But my god those quotes are a complete rim job for leeds/bielsa.. Tbf he isnt the only one doing that this season. sky/bt, the rest of the media have been over the top in praise for them and clearly ignore there faults.

You must be obsessed, you’re seeing arse licking where arse liking isn’t happening, you weirdo.

If you knew anything of the history between the two then you’d know that Pep’s a long time admirer of Bielsa, it’s got fuck all to do with him being at Leeds as he studied Bielsa’s methods and praised him at every opportunity long before Bielsa came to the UK.

Not wanting to sound raggish, but from what I have seen of Leeds this season, I haven't been that impressed tbh.

They look very up and down and pretty ordinary in many respects and certainly not as good as they looked when I watched them in their promotion season.

But for the mistake by Ederson and us not taking chances, I thought we should have won at Leeds. But we weren't at our current level of performance then.
We should have been 3/4 nil up after half an hour but then inexplicably slackened off after taking the lead and allowed them back into the game, as we seemed to do so so often in the early part of the season

I've always had the old school notion that a derby should be, properly speaking, between clubs from the same city. Thus the only real Yorkshire derby is between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday. (I suppose you could argue Bradford City versus Bradford Park Avenue).
Over the years, the notion's been extended (mainly by the media, to big up matches and whip up tv audiences) to just a match between the what are considered to be the two biggest clubs with a fierce rivalry. Thus the match between Barca and Real is sometimes referred to as a derby — which is a joke. Also P.S.G. versus Marseille. In both cases the clubs are separated by hundreds of kilometres and are in entirely different regions.
Absolutely, non geographical grudge matches, not derbies.

Why shouldn’t it?
