It's not just pep but also the aguero situation which needs clarity.Just hope we are not doing something stupid, like waiting for messi situation and hence giving time for pep and aguero to make up their mind

The Messi circus was just that a circus and this club looked like the clown act.

Stupid, stupid situation to go after a 33 yr old Barca icon believing he would not only come here but would reproduce that Barca form in this side.

Aguero is ageing and rapidly, we should have prioritised his replacement this summer, and given that replacement 12 months grace to bed in and be around the great man.

Yet again we have made ourselves look foolish, one of the biggest teams in the world and not one striker available, only 2 young kids.

Simply not good enough.

I remember how the regulars threw abuse at everyone who highlighted that Mahrez is not what we need in a winger when he signed. “He can play CAM and LW”. Fast forward to today and he has barely managed to fit into our RW position. Great player that needs to work hard on becoming compatible with our style.

He is a great footballer but not a player who suits our style and never will.

If he wasn’t turning 30 in February I would say he has time to improve, but who are we kidding? It’s the same with expecting Mendy to magically recover his ability to run and cross. Physiology is against both unfortunately.
 
I’ve read nearly every comment here. I am a bit shocked. As stated before City have had no pre season, a huge injury list. 2 key forwards Injured. Sane leaving, Merlin retiring. 3 new signings to bed in. Dreadful weather conditions yesterday. its disappointing for sure, but not the end of the world.
As for the match against Leeds, personally I really enjoyed the game. Both sides gave everything. It was a real battle, fast and furious. Our new Defender Ruben Dias put in a solid performance and alongside Laporte will be one of the best defensive partnerships in the league. Mendy defensively is an issue. Hopefully Cancello can be ready for next league game. We are missing 2 great Strikers as well.
There is a long way to go and the amount of bed wetting and self entitlement makes me squirm with embarrassment. Collectively we are better than this. Get behind the team!!

Long way to go?

The title is almost gone already, how many games do you think the scousers will lose this season?

There are no margins at top level, none whatsoever.
 
I find one of the most frustrating things the tempo, or rather the lack of it, especially with regard to throw ins. Hate to mention the 'L' word but their full backs race over to fetch a ball, and it is back in play within seconds. Compare this relentless approach with ours - strolling towards the ball-park throw in area, waiting for a ball to be delivered by a non-existent ball boy, then spending up to 30 seconds bouncing / spinning the footie (with admittedly often very few team-mates offering themselves). It was so bad yesterday that Dean had to give Walker the 'hurry up' at 1-1, and would probably have booked him for time wasting if we'd been winning

Don’t get what is the Aguero situation! He’s 32 and injury prone. Possibly the biggest legend we’ll ever have but regardless of whether he stays an extra season or not we need a top striker in the summer. We should have been buying one this Summer but we never seem to act early in making big signings anymore.

It’s all well and good saying we’ve had no preseason or we have players out but we’re losing due to silly mistakes and just causing ourselves so many issues that I don’t see changing at this moment in time.

We are not performing well and I don’t see how Messi would have fixed our midfield or problems at LB. It is brutal honesty from me, that he probably is better off staying at Barca if we are literally in the same compromised position as them.

The number of points dropped by the dippers will depend on their injury situation.

So far, they're pretty much injury free.

Let's see how they get on when they face a period with no strikers.

They don’t seem to get many injuries to their key men bar Allisson and maybe the odd niggle to one of their better players.

I stuck £100 on Liverpool to win the league on 88mins - we simply wont compete for the league this season and I can’t see anyone else getting close to them

To me it’s buying money. Certainly a better interest rate than I’d get from any bank....
 
Same first 20 minute domination, followed by lots of hard work but no
Consistency, why the fuck Sterling tries to get to within one inch of the goalie before having a crack I’ll never know.
 
My thoughts about our players after the game. Mendy is a weak link defensively. Mahrez is a fair weather player it seems and plays when he feels he wants to. Foden is young and still a bit raw but we all know he will be a major player in the future. With a full squad Aguero and Jesus for Mahrez and Torres. Cancelo for Mendy and we would have won the game yesterday. Let us judge the team when we have a full squad to choose from or at the very least when our injured Strikers return.
