Leeds United (A) Post Match Thread

This doesnt surprise me! lack of protection in front of the back 4....most of us have been screaming out for more pace/energy in DM...Fern cant do it for 90mins anymore....we needed more than CB's this summer...

Have been screaming that all year.

It was Fern that we missed in midfield last year. Rodri although a nice passer cant do what he does.

Take Fern out of the side and we are too soft and too exposed.

Last season when we dropped points it was almost always the case of us not taking our chances. Games that could've gone differently had we been clinical.

These 2 games have now been very different. Both the eye test and stats like xG back up that we should've been beaten considering the amount of good chances. The amount of games we should've lost according to xG last season was very small, maybe we've already gone over that number this season.

I know the stat in itself isn't that important but it's just another point in what feels to me a declining team. 3 games is not enough to form definitive opinion yet though.
The game against Arsenal is majorly important. If for the third game in a row we will be outplayed I'd feel quite confident in saying this is going to be a bad season, worse than last season's likely. 3 league games in a row would already be a clear pattern.

Our fowards’ pressing on will be the difference from between Rodri cleaning up a rushed pass or under-pressure control or Rodri having to deal with an organized attacking movement.

Replacing Rodri is pointless. We can get someone with more legs, but if guys like Mahrez won’t run like madmen, whoever replaces Rodri will never give to the team the maximum impact possible because unless the forwards press better, we’ll never be as good as we can be.

Pep , it is fair to say, knows more about football than any of us on here. But when your left back has had a stinker of a first half, been booked and then got ran ragged by a youngster, put on solely to run at him because he had a stinker of a first half, why did he not put Ake on earlier?
And why didn't Pep hook Mahrez earlier. More energy from Bernado.

Don’t think we were that bad; Rodri looked god in midfield today, Dias and Laporte did ok. Sterling had a good game and scored a well-taken goal. Ederson made 3 or 4 excellent saves, which is why it was a shame he made the error that cost us 2 points.

Mahrez needs to learn to pass more and Mendy is not a left back.
Well you’re overlooking Edersons howler for their goal, but your right about Rodri being god, not many people have much belief in him
