Leeds United (A) | Post Match Thread

Cancelo needs to concentrate for the whole match vs Madrid, he has some lapse of concentration problem , technically one of the best if not the best full back in the league but needs improvement on his Mental part. No lapses again please, heart can't take those.
Coming to the match, apart from the early scare we were in control from first to finish with an exception I noticed from the First leg of Madrid match sometimes our defenders and Ederson have miscommunication on who will be taking the ball. Especially Laporte, sometimes it seems he will take the ball away to safety then just leaves it for the on rushing Ederson happened yesterday as well.

They also threw stuff at their own player when he was trying to take a Leeds corner. He was extremely pissed off.

The trouble is that they gave these idiots pieces of paper and nothing else. If they'd given them a set of crayons to go with it then there wouldn't have been a problem.
Yeah that was Rafinha, he turned around and yelled at them. Fucking hilarious

Great result, well done the team and well done the away fans - great noise throughout.
What a fantastic clearance by LaPorte which led to his injury, pleased he seemed ok but one of those occasions where I think he should have been subbed for proper assessment - so many bang on about player welfare then simply disregard it in these circumstances. Great cross and header for the first, pleased for Gabby to get another to certainly put it to bed. Awful ref allowed them to kick us with impunity at every opportunity, I think that'll be the mandated template for the rest of the season.
Just watched motd, where the summarisers looked at City defence (from a positive aspect) and Leeds' missed opportunities, didn't comment on or even show all our goals, wtf!!

Strange game but it's about results and got the job done
Leeds' fans are so stuck in the 1970s, it was old school paper rocks and scissors hahaaha

There's been a couple of matches recently where Grealish has got stuck in while Foden has been largely anonymous at times and today was one of those. Worked hard, constantly targeted with no support from the ref as is often the case, and this was one of those battling games where he shows his value.

He's not a silky skills type of player which is why I think a lot of people don't see him as top class, but compare him with the likes of someone like Pogba who cost almost as much, does sod all year in year out and is walking away on a free....

That said, I always thought he was overrated at Villa and I certainly wouldn't have paid £100m for him, but that's not his fault and he's not the failure that many suggest he is,
Foden assisted 2 of our goals yesterday and took the corner for the other one. He was instrumental in our win.

Missed the match due to some family engagement, was terrified to check the result - fearing the worst as I usually do.
Called it completely wrong clearly. You were right and I was well wide of the mark Domkeefe. Well done.
Off to watch the game now.

Fun stat (understat.com): we've been more clinical than Liverpool so far.

They've scored as many goals as they've been expected to, given the chances they've created.

We have scored 3 goals more than our xG.

But they have conceded 7 goals fewer than their xGA, mostly due to opposition players missing big chances (and some brilliant saves by Alisson, too).
