Leeds United (A) | Post Match Thread

I was great to see Fern score but how the fuck was that not a penalty? Raz clearly got pushed in the back. Giving it would not have effected the result so it really just indicates Tierney is utterly incompetent
My thoughts exactly. I am quite proud of city tonight. Yet another team is battering us with no referee protection but we prevail.

Iffy first half but the second half was great.

Laporte was our best defender.

Cancelo struggled in the 1st half but seriously improved in the 2nd. Same with Gundogan.

Ake is proving his worth to the team.

Rodri, Foden and Jesus were excellent.

Raz was going past their defenders for fun. Grealish grew in the game, very good 2nd half.

Pep rested several players, the team should be fresh for Madrid. I expect a great performance at the Bernabeu.
We were fine first half, they were running around like headless chickens and looked more dangerous than they were. Did Eddy have a save to make? Shocking ref gave us nothing. Some fans nervous, but for me, not the players.

Just like all the women I’ve ever know from Yorkshire, it was ugly as fuck but we got the job done.

Second half much better and a very professional performance in the end.

Upwards blues !!

Great result. Getting seriously tense now. It's not out of the question that there could be a same points, same goal difference and same head-to-head scenario!

The 1st half was really bad, it’s not often we have so little control of a game but it just wasn’t us.

2nd half much better but yet again so many chances missed.

Thought Sterling worked hard but I don’t understand why when he gets in the box he all of a sudden thinks he is prime Messi…take the fucking shot.

Jesus just has to be playing. Works so hard for the team and is now finding the net.

Grealish was much better in the 2nd half but still delivering very little with regards to goal threat.

I don’t know what the frig has happened to Gundogan. Every time he receives the ball, it’s slow it down and pass backwards. He is driving me round the twist.

After a tough midweek I thought Laporte was excellent at the back.

On to the next one.
I’m not a fan of Sterling but today he played very well, ripping Leeds apart with his excellent dribbling and awareness.
Just my opinion.

But where's VAR? I thought that was the whole point of it, to correct ref's mistakes.

These open scrappy games we usually come out on top and wining by a few goals sometimes pep should see the poorer teams let them have the ball and when we get it back we have more space.

Maybe a template for next season with Haaland in the side.

Massive performance that, and a win professional winners will get with ease. We handled them from the off, and out them away without having to risk Kev, Mahrez and Bernardo only played 10 minutes.

Back our lads in the last 4 games. We know what it's about this time of the season, no need for some of the hysteria we read on here during the match day thread. We have a serial winner in Pep in charge, and he's rubbed off on these lads. 4 more wins that's all that's needed from here, touching distance now.

Foden MOTM for me, will try to enjoy a couple of days grace period before the Real second leg. CTID
