Leeds United (H) - Post-Match Thread

Is there a discussion to be had now and I certainly believe this, that over the last four seasons City have played perhaps the most scintillating and devastating football ever? By anyone in the world? Are we witnessing this without realising it? Yep we have zero champions leagues and if truly awesome teams are judged by that metric then we're obviously short there. In my lifetime we are the best, the PL is the hardest league and I've witnessed and acknowledged to other fans the great Arsenal side, Pep's Barcelona, dare I say it, Liverpool in the 80s. The game's different to what it used to be in the 60s and before that, I just have an inkling that we are on the cusp of something here, regardless of silverware. Without a striker ffs!

Happens regularly with new signings at City. The press are desperate to brand them a big money flop, too many City supporters read it and decide such and such a body is crap, then after a while everybody realises that actually they’re outstanding but needed time to bed in.
Where Grealish is now is where Cancelo, Stones, Bernardo, Gundogan etc have all previously been.
Exactly! The press like nothing more than to stir up trouble for City. It's not surprising, the only surprise is how many still go along with it. Pep Guardiola got the same treatment in the beginning too.

Really enjoyed that. Everyone played well. Kev proves everyone wrong but he will seldom get that amount of space. Still great to see him operate like that, didn't give the ball away as much, some lovely passes and 2 great finishes. I was watching Phil at the end. Unlike just about everyone, showed absolutely no sign of fatigue, sprinting back and forward, dropping deep into central midfield to collect the ball. What a player we have. Thought Ake defended well when he came on and what a bloody header. Rodri is a monster. Pep took him off or it would have been 10 for sure. Was a great booster at the end of a shit day.

Which marking method does a team employ when the opposition attack and midfield are so fluid, positionally-variable and, best still, on top form? Bielsa is a very thoughtful coach and proved it last year, but last night would have stretched most teams and they would have been found wanting. Kev moving rapidly back his top form and Greasy Jack treating us to his best game since he joined. But credit to Leeds - they displayed 100% more ambition than the Jackals from Staffordshire.

My very own thoughts last night. Football this fast, fluid and technically advanced have never before been seen. Must be that oil.

Fantastic result for the super blues.... but im readying myself for the comments about oil money when i get to work, but they will just deflect off my shield for today I am PEPMAN!!
Are people still bothered about the “oil money” jibes ?
laugh at it for what it is. Any one who drives a car is indirectly a closet city fan.

Absolutely landed this morning and a big fuck you to all the Leeds apologists from other clubs.
I know KDBs thunder Cnut goal was exceptional but the other was brilliant too. Eye of a needle job.
Who was that summariser who was looking for excuses every goal - what an annoying tool.
