That's the figure being mentioned. In the current market you'd have to say that's a steal.

Haaland £51m
Cucurella £35m
Phillips £35m

That would be a seriously good window for us.

Would set us up to swap to 4-2-3-1 in big European games. Should be able to get the best out of KDB, Grealish and Haaland in that system and be more resilient against counter attacks.

is it? 4-2-3-1 is known to be a counter attacking formation. Pep used it at a certain point while at Bayern, im a bit surprised he hasnt experimented much with formations at city, just variations and tinkering here and there

Not really a counter attacking formation. Against Watford we played a 4-2-3-1 with Zinch on the left and Cancelo along with KDB creating width on the right. Zinch and Kev crossing balls into the middle with 3 forwards in the box.

It's how Pep was saying why he brought in Zinchekno against Villa. When attacking in the opponents half, if they are playing narrow and clogging up the middle, the space is out wide. If you have both of your fullbacks high and wide you pull the opposition fullbacks out and we have 3 forwards in the middle. It becomes a problem for the 2 CB's marking 3 men. Midfielders can come in to help, but then our #10 can have more space.

Really though I only see this against opposition who sit deep and don't transition well on the counter attack because you'd only have 2 holding mids and the 2 CB's defending. There is a lot of space out wide with our fullbacks high.
I really only see 1 FB high and wide at at a time with the other in an inverted position or not playing as high.

The Spaniard only joined the Seagulls last summer from Getafe for around £15.4m but admits that he would be tempted by a potential switch to the Etihad Stadium.

When questioned by journalist Gerard Romero on rumours linking him with Man City, Cucurella said: "If the opportunity arises, you have to take advantage of it. There are teams that you can't say no to."

Missing Alvarez who just bagged SIX goals last night! Hahaha

Hence I think the fee will be OK as Brighton can register a 100-120% profit if he moves. They won’t complain

If you think it’s gonna be that easy getting cucurella out of Brighton then I’m afraid your very naive. Tony bloom is not an easy man to do business with particularly when cucurella has 4 years left on his contract.

Unless there is a release clause I can’t see us paying the money reauired to sign him this summer. They have quoted Leicester 60 mil for their goalkeeper Sanchez I’d imagine they would want the same for cucurella

Yet the fee reported by six journalists last week, as hinted on here by reliable people on here, is around 30-40m. So either Brighton are getting a good deal with City in regard to % and loans, or there's a clause, sure.

Don't think Brighton fans would accept them letting go of someone who's just won their player of the season and has 4 years left in his contract go for only £30mil

At that price it's a steal, but like Phillips, unless there is a release clause I see these values (for both) being much closer to £50mil which imo is too much for either

Can see money plus loans of decent players as a sweetner

Genuine question, but has that ever been done

Hear it floated around but never actually seen it

Why would Brighton take significantly less money AND develop a player (assuming its a younger guy they'd be given) for us that they likely couldn't sign

Not sure if done before but having a good relationship with club with best academy surely counts for something

Brighton would also receive double what they paid for him

Well there is nothing that suggests that the fee will be over 40m, as reported. More evidence point towards a clause or a fee by going on ITKs word and reports.

He has just come off the back of an excellent season and the chance of more than doubling their 15M investment must be tempting.

The player will probably earn double/treble his present wages if he arrives here.

He's also JUST openly said he wouldnt say no to a top club and that brighton was a stepping stone... they'll probably sell now when the stocks are high.

Not that I rate this source just that it’s another link. Probably based on yesterday’s comments tho.
