So you'd rather speculate what some rando reporter said vs just waiting to see based on Pep not stating exactly in a press conference exactly what our transfer plan is... Cheers mate.
That’s not what I was meaning at all. I was wondering if any other reliable reporter (like Ballus or Gaughan) clarified what Pep was saying as I was confused as some have taken different perspectives from what Pep has said.

Yes, depends whether Pep understood the word ‘discounting’ or not.
That’s what others have said they weren’t sure whether he understood the question so I was wondering whether a reliable reporter has clarified. I don’t see the problem with asking the question

Knowing Pep's typical behavior toward the media- I am all but positive he was meaning "no more" as it was in the context of having signed a player- IMO even if he knew we're actively looking he would not let on as such. Just as Garcia joining the first team means zero as to whether he will be loaned out before the end of the window. All this putting the info out for all to see hasn't exactly favored us so I think Pep is doing his usual and trying to just shut it down.

Different people have said different things , so I am confused ?
I watched it for myself mate & it seemed pretty clear what was meant. I get the confusion if people are trying to decipher what was asked & what Pep replied based on someone else's interpretation from a tweet.

It's similar to when I changed my mind on whether Bernardo wanted to leave City. For the past 12 months many BM ITK's have been clear that Silva was over his problems & happy to stay in Manchester.

However, when I saw Bernardo's post match interview after the Club America pre-season match, it was pretty darn clear to me that Bernardo wanted to leave, but he's happy in Manchester & if he doesn't get his transfer he'll respect the club & fans & still give 100 whilst he's at the club%.

If you read the reports it could be interpreted as "I'm happy in Manchester & will give 100% for the club & the fans". However the actual interview & his body language said something different altogether.

This confusion continued until Bernardo reinforced his "I'm not sure about my City future & the club knows what I want, but I'll continue to give 100% until the situation changes" in the subsequent ESPN interview 2 days ago.

Right now I doubt there's much doubt left that Bernardo wants out, but will give 100% whilst still a City player.

What was pretty clear?

Gomez will be a better player in 22/23 :) Gomez is also an ex-barcelona player, and he is technically superior, faster and q better crosser. Don't sleep on the his Gem.

Who would you play at left back in a CL semi final? Cancelo or Gomez?

Doesn't this depend on who played in previous rounds?
Of course.

My question to Dax, as head of Gomez’s fan club based on a 2 minute video he saw earlier, was to ascertain if he thought we have had the complete transfer window, or whether we may still be in the market for a more defensively solid left back.

I knew what you were getting at, I just answered it as a stand-alone question. However, my preference would be Cancelo either way.

I think it depends on who we are playing, obviously, but Cancelo has to be the answer at the moment as Gomez hasn’t had a chance yet.

It could even be Ake, of course.

This all assumes Walker is fit!

Seemed pretty obvious. Gomez could very well be good. But it’s a really nice bandaid for the time being and if they see another opportunity in future windows for a well rounded lb they will pounce. Cucu just fit the profile perfectly in terms of what they look for.

Will be curious if Bernardo does somehow leave, which seems very unlikely, who would be the replacement there.

Anyway ideally Bernardo stays and they go all in on nkunku, jude or somehow both next window. And they let him go to Barca or elsewhere then. And hopefully a viable lb option has surfaced.
