My mate Baz could be our answer, he's 39 and can still get from the Welcome in Prestwich to the Same Yet in 35 minutes.

***unless he stops at the Farmers for a beer and a bag of Nobbys.

He's pretty enthusiastic about whole thing and seems keen, he said if Pep comes in for him he'd consider giving up "the tabs and bread".

I smiled and told him "We ain't desperate Baz" and the whole pub laughed, but im starting to think, perhaps I shouldnt have bought him that last pint?!?!

Not that I'm panicking like...
That's a fair old walk and mostly uphill so he should be in with a shout I say.

I don't know what Valencia will want but Gaya is not a bad alternative. £50m would be more realstic price than Cucurella. I've seen Grimaldo's name been mentioned; again a not bad alternative but we may have to wait and see if they qualify for this season's Champions League.
He has 1 year left on his contract. Reckon it would be under 30m

That wouldn't be a major issue considering that was meant to be our opening bid for the hairy one at Brighton and a similar fee in what we had sold Zin for

We need to stay away from Premier League unless good business can be done. A £20m or so profit doesn’t mean much compared to TV rights for places, or even just staying up.

Wijndal & Tagliafico went for cheap, Grimaldo, Gaya, Sosa & Raum all seem gettable. Considering how short we are on fullbacks, we should honestly forget Cucarella and sign 2 others.

Agree if we cannot get Cucurella get 2 others.

Yeah in 2 friendly matches. He would have been destroyed playing against Liverpool. Great potential but not at PL level yet.

I'm disappointed we didn't get to find out. He was very good in pre-season, Bayern are hardly shite yet he was solid. Cancelo was fucking dire against the dippers. What a test for the lad it could have been getting a run out against Salah.

The fact we had two games prior meant we had to use the game on Saturday for the squad to prepare for Sunday so Cancelo had to play. Let's remember who plays at full back for Liverpool. Not exactly big money signings were they! Yet they got their chance and impressed.

Defensively it doesn't take much to improve on Cancelo. In most games he will be the starter, but I felt like Liverpool saw him as a weakness and targetted him and Ake knowing he couldn't play comfortably on his left side and closed the routes into Rodri/Grealish to force him into mistakes.
