Offside I think, the Norwich player making the run on the far right looks just offside when the ball is played. No "active or inactive" phases at that time.

Yes but i think quite a bit of that applause was actually from Norwich fans at the front of the North stand, to the left of Corrigan,some of them are jumping about as the rocket shot goes in..What the hell was their free kick disallowed for???
But a nice bit of applause from the blues for their 'goal' before it was chalked off.
Talking of left footers,its noticeable that Lee uses his weaker left foof to put tony towers away down the left for him to cross left-footed..
Colin Barret,wearing no.2 for City and playing right back,has a brilliant shot from distance with his stronger left foot..he went on to win the league and i think european cup as a left back for forest(scored with his left foot for forest against liverpool when they beat them in the first round ,first leg of the old european cup to make it 2-0)
And Lee scores the last goal with his left foot after the brilliantly executed free kick right at the end.

Offside given for a player running off the ball ALL THE TIME back in the day! One reason why no one knows the rules anymore...active, inactive, touch, no touch, in the keepers line of sight, or not?! It was clear cut in the day, even if a bit harsh at times.

Not young, just don't remember it being that harsh...don't think we scored enough goals in the 80s to have many chalked off in this fashion!
The one I remember is Tiatto's great goal v Boro. Still fuming about that one.
