Leicester (a) Carabao Cup QF post match thread

Very solid and won't embarrass himself in his final year with us when required.

Still a great passer of the ball and as mentioned has experience you require in these games , the youngsters can learn a lot from playing in the same side as Yaya.

Agreed, if we're 1-0 up with just minutes to go in the CL final. YaYa would be on for me.

The dynamism is all but gone. But he still offers plenty.

Tonight I thought Gundogan & Silva stepped up. Jesus grafted his nuts off.

Danilo looked solid and then very composed at centre half.

Foden & Diaz looked like decent pros rather than giddy young kids. They'll be very useful and that is more promising tonne than a couple of highlights. They suited the team and the team trusted them.

Like Zinchenko, nice footballer.

Tosin was good tonight and was good second half vs Shakhtar, perhaps it's time to give him a shout in Stones' absence.

Gundogan had a flap every time one of the young lads gave the ball away. He didn't have the best of games himself.

Don't like seeing that

FA should be ashamed for this incompetent referee.
some of them are not fit to be match officials for a multi-billion industry.
the penalty and 8 fucking minutes extra time.

And yet he left Gundogan behind when running back for the ball.

Yaya was very good indeed, in a totally unbalanced team imo.

Yaya's pass completion was far and away the best in the game. His pressing helped create the first goal. He directed traffic all night like a good captain should. And he still has not missed a penalty.

What was with that awkward interaction between Bravo & Pep at the end there? Seemed like Bravo wanted none of it

Make no mistake, our kids embarrassed a largely experienced Leicester side at their place. Skill, technique, character, will to win, and bottle (especially). You can see that the kids are being coached to play like the first team. I really hope that Iheanacho can get his career going again - gave us some good moments in his fledgling career.

Mangala went to pieces & Gundogan kept making wrong decisions & getting caught wrong side of play, & Yaya, often on his own, had to sweep it all up.
Yeah I agree no matter what he does his languid style will make people think he is slowing us down. There was a point tonight where he missed Danilo out and played it further wide to Silva but in order to find the angle, he took an extra touch. Within 5 seconds there was a comment on the match thread about him slowing play down.....Even though if he had have passed to Danilo he would have only played it to Silva anyway....which ironically would have taken longer.

I recon a top def mid tonight, plus Yaya & Foden, would have been better than Yaya, plus Gundogan & Foden. City, & Foden (& Brahim) would have been better.

He had by far the toughest job, of the 3 imo & made the best out of it.

Madley was clearly on the take and he'll be disappointed he won't get his brown envelope tomorrow. I don't think anything more needs to be said because that is the top and bottom of it.

Good effort. Deserved.

Bravo did some good things and some bad things, although I never have the same assured feeling as when Ederson plays.

Contrary to many, I thought Yaya had a very good game.

But tonight was about the kids and that experience will serve them well.

Next.
