As I said, this sin't the thread, but my last word on Bravo in here
Are you a season card holder!! If you are I suggest you open your ears and speak to the people around you
Where I sit in East level 1, the majority believe that we've hugely regressed in the keeper department. It doesn't matter in what way the manager wants us to play out from the back. The simple fact is that if the opposition have a decent effort at goal the chances are it will will result in them scoring. We're gifting chances so it's fucking nailed on that Bravo will concede. I honestly don't believe we'll ever see him play a blinder
Just as one example, look at that Crystal Palace goal the other week.
If Pep wants someone good with their feet in goal who can pick a pass but isn't bothered if he isn't good enough making saves, then he should just chuck Yaya in nets (no I'm not being serious with that suggestion)
Most are putting Bravo in their predicted team because they know he will be first on the team sheet. Surely you can grasp that!
1. Yes I am. ST holder and your observations of those around you is not shared.
2. I agree we are conceding too many chances, which is more the issue. With the best will in the world, we are as equally likely to concede no matter who is in nets.
3. He is in most team selections for a reason..
4. A clown and fucking useless, he is not. Some fans however...

5. Pep is sticking with Bravo, this isn't negotiable. You can flap about it all day long, but he's our number one and will be our number one. People thinking otherwise need to wake up.

Bravo's shot stopping abilities, or lack thereof, are totally overblown and statistically he's in much the same situation there as Joe Hart last season. Meanwhile, he has the highest pass completion percentage of any keeper in the league and is genuinely involved in goal-scoring/key attacking buildup. This is pivotal to Pep's style of play.

That's all an argument for the player thread though, not that those who dislike Bravo are likely to be swayed in their views by objective fact.

I'm firmly in the Joe Hart camp but we are where we are and Bravo is the man, like it or not, we have to get behind him and trust the best manager on the planet to pick the right people and bring the results in as the team adapts and his vision for us is realised. How about leaving it at that?

He's made over 400 club appearences and has 110 international caps so clearly has some ability. He hasn't had the greatest of starts but no worse than De Gea in his first season. I think we should cut him a huge amount of slack until he's played behind a settled defence for more than a handful of games.

But Bravo is 33 years old. De Gea when he started with Utd was about 22.
I think Bravo is useless and will continue to cost us dearly. Has he had a great game yet? Dont think so. The only mitigation is that he has a very poor defence in front of him.

We all know Leicester need a win so who is it the team there going to get 3 points off? Please let's not have a typical City. Massive game for us this one and we owe them from last season.

The foxes will have 2 attempts on goal and score both from long balls into the huge space behind whilst we are dicking about on the halfway line
27 and 91st mins

Cant help but think you might be right. Actually think it will be 1-1 but we need a win. Without Otemendi, Ferna Aguero it wil, be tough.

I think it's pretty daft to dismiss a keeper of his pedigree as "useless". He's had a difficult start to his City career, and I'm not yet convinced that he's an upgrade on Hart, but he deserves a bit more respect than that. You don't win the honours that he as if you're useless.

There is so much wrong with that statement Ric
You can pick out numerous very average rag players, such as John O'Shea, who's trophy cabinet is overflowing

Oh Bollocks!
I've just posted again about a player in the Leicester pre match thread

I'm going for a 3-2 City win in another nailbiter as Leicester keep catching us on the break

I agree that average squad players can have deceptively impressive CVs, but Bravo has also won international honours and individual awards (named in the last two Copa America team of the tournaments for instance). Just find it odd that so many City fans seek to denigrate him after only 15 appearances for the club.

Squad players, not 1st choice goalkeeper

Since beating Bournemouth at home 4-0 on the 17th September our goals against read as:

1, 1, 3, 2, 1, 4, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1

That is 16 games with one clean sheet, absolutely utterly pathetic - I don't know how anybody could argue with that.

It is of cause not just down to one individual player but a collective failure of the whole team, do I think it will improve - not seen anything on the pitch to think it will.

Face facts either the players are not good enough or Pep is hopeless at coaching defensive tactics.

Leicester will score of that I have no doubt, we will have to put our chances away or a defeat is on the cards however bad Leicester have been.

great post. What it shows is that we have to score at least two to win. I know that is obvious but champions do need a number of 1-0 wins.

Missing Aguero, while not good, isn't the biggest loss, for me not having Fernandinho in the middle will definitely test us against the Foxes.
If we can address the loss of Fernandinho, and tighten up at the back, we should be ok

PEP: @sterling7 trained yesterday, hopefully he’ll be fit for #foxesvcity. Delph trained yesterday. All of them are good, no problem. #MCFC

PEP: If we play how we did against Chelsea & Celtic we are going to do good things. Maybe not if we play like we did against Burnley.

PEP: #PL is tough. Leicester remain a very good team. I have a lot of respect for Ranieri. What happened last season was amazing

PEP: Zabaleta can play in the middle. He’s very experienced. I think in the last years of his career he’ll play more in the middle.
