http://www.footstats.co.uk/index.cfm?task=league_cards Not sure how they're accounting for reds.

From what I can see, the teams that are Overcarded AND whose opposition are undercarded are Chelsea and Sunderland. Other side of the coin is Leicester, Tottenham, Liverpool.
Based on that table (if the stats are accurate) there is some evidence the referees have been slightly less lenient on us when compared to the majority of the league, as many other posters (including myself) have pointed out. The stats would actually look even worse without the recent red cards.

Still, it is a small data sample, it does not provide qualitative analysis (relative severity of the contributing fouls), it's early in the season, and the metrics could easily change.

It's been pretty consistent against us since 2012 so have to disagree with your last sentence. We get a higher card/foul ratio, a higher card/tackle ratio and a higher foul/tackle ratio than any other side in the league, believe we've got the most first half yellow cards as well which inhibits our ability to defend effectively.

I agree with everything you said... but my last statement is factual true, so you can't really disagree with it. It is basically a layman's version of a statistical analysis qualification brief. ;-)

I'd love to see an analysis from the last four years, though.

Posted a while back on the main forum, fuck me if I can remember the name of the thread though. :(

I would say there is evidence this may not occur with other sides with the same level or intensity as it does with us, but I am more than happy to concede that is entirely a subjective assessment on my part.

Pretty sure we want a subjective performance from our boys today and a lousy one from Leicester but any win will do me.

i'm going for

--------------------------------------BRAVO----------------------------------
----FERNANDO---------SAGNA------------STONES----------KOLAROV---
---------------------------------GUNDONGAN-------------------------------
-----------------------SILVA------------------------KDB----------------------
-------SANE-------------------------------------------------STERLING------
-----------------------------------NACHO------------------------------------

Then again it could be three at the back and Yaya& Fernando is a midfield 2 just for the fun of it, i have no idea any more
--------------------------------------BRAVO----------------------------------
-----------SAGNA------------------STONES---------------KOLAROV-------
-----------------------------YAYA-------------FERNANDO-------------------
----------SANE-----------------GUNDONGAN-----------------SILVA-------
