Fucking brilliant win, the kind we needed to escape this blip. Scruffy, hard but a win.

On Pep for making the sub for McAtee, which was met in the shit hole match thread that he only did it to put him in the window. The kid changed the game - Pep’s sub that is.

Lewis tough as fuck, Kovacic everywhere and Savinho’s best game so far.

There are some ‘fans’ on that match day thread who should either fuck off or just go and watch another sport, because when they are pissing and moaning and Gary fucking Neville actually talks sense about why this blip has happened, well it shows they know fuck all. The miserable cunts are seriously out in force on match day

I had visitors so couldn't read the Match Day thread and didn't know until at least 10 minutes after it finished so is it worth me watching MOTD2 tonight or will I just get annoyed? :-)

Just wait for the short highlights on the website and ignore any Leicester chances. It wasn't pretty but fuck it

Horrible to watch until James on for Foden. Then much better.

I don't know what going on with Foden but he should be given some time off now. Does not look for at all.

I am convinced that Phil has some form of after effects from his Covid the other month. I hope not but it is very strange how his performance has gone off.

They could just use the sky commentary, that was embarrassingly one sided and pathetic, even by Sky's poor standards.

Great result but the same issues are still glaringly there.

Positives - Savihnio played well. Bernardo did as well. Foden was at least trying to make things happen and Kovacic worked really hard (needs to just keep it simple though). Akanji was also decent. Haaland looked sharper.

Negatives the same - KDB is a hinderance defensively. he cant press from the front and cant get back so we are automatically a man down. He cant run through the middle anymore with the ball and is continually being dispossessed.
Rico as a fullback is ok (though we need better) - however in midfield he is too weak - people can point to one chipped ball over the top to help set up the haaland chance in the first half but he gets turned too easy and gives the ball away.
Gvardiols confidence has fallen off a cliff - he is playing very poorly every game

The midfield (and forward line) from a defensive perspective might as well not be there.....we cant press so why are we continuing to do so? It gets played around so easily.

Great win and really happy especially for Pep (he looked quite moved by the away fans chanting for him at the end of the game and good on Haaland sending Pep over to the fans btw)
However most other teams in the league would have got a positive result from that game today...we got a stroke of luck with the first goal and how Leicester didnt make more of their chances I just dont know - they were extremely poor upfront.

Keeper saved Phil's shot and Savio finished really well..

I'm not sure we are even trying to press any more. I remember the days of opposition players having 2 or 3 of our players snapping at their heels and forcing mistakes or them to concede possession.

Nowadays we just seem to push 3 or 4 players forward but they stop 5 yards or so from the opposition and try to block passing lanes. That hasn't proved to be very effective IMO as patient teams will find a pass sooner or later and it automatically bypasses 3 or 4 of our players and puts them on the attack.

Either press with a high defensive line, or drop off. A combination of both just doesn't work.
