Ake-Laporte pairing would certainly be interesting. I can't recall seeing 2 left-footed CB's play together before.

Much though I would love to see Ake back in the City team, when did he last play a match?

I was just mentioning I reckon he is the quickest of our centre backs. Personally I don't want him to start tomorrow either I hope it's two of three Stones, Dias or Laporte.
Ake will need minutes in games before he is even considered to start in a game of this magnitude.

Which is actually why I see Ake starting and even Mendy won’t surprise me in the starting XI ...

Pep’s patterns from the past suggest and I’ve looked at his time at Barca and Bayern as well ... come the business end of the season Pep won’t care if it’s the toughest game of the season ... it’s all about two games each week now on till the end and each week will be divided into which game is more important than the other ... this week Leicester is a nothing game, might as well be a training match because bigger one is Dortmund by far so you’d see him give time to those who needs and those who needs rest will be rested ...

Same then next week ... if we have won well against Dortmund the important game next week becomes the FA cup semi and if this tie is in balance he’ll focus on second leg instead ...

So forget the rest of the season or what happened in the reverse fixture ... here on it’s all about which of the two games is the bigger one that very week and then we go week by week to the end!

Wouldn’t worry me to see that. Ake was fully engaged in the training this week wasn’t he.

Had a nightmare in the game at ours, do we risk it? No meaningful game time to boot since before Xmas

Reasonable and sensible answers from the boss. I would not expect anything else from the great man. Just like Dias the club will buy within our means. Plenty of forwards for us to choose from imo.

Pep seems fairly upbeat about Stones that he wont take it very hard at all and I believe that as well. Then how much uncertainty Pep hides within himself is sometimes hard to tell lol.
