Leicester City (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

This season has been tough for a lot of reasons.

What I can't understand is the dissatifaction of fellow blues, when we have watched our team, be professional, dominate the game and win 2-0.

But being a glass half full kind of guy, we can still finish top 4, win the FA Cup and hopefully win the club WC.

But hey it is what it is. CTID

Wasn’t a classic, they are utterly shite, we made hard work of it at times. Why don’t we shoot? Why do we always have to slow it down? Started like a house on fire and got a goal. What’s wrong with continuing with some intensity, make it a habit again?

Happy with the win and the clean sheet but we have a handful of players that are nowhere near at the level we need them to be unfortunately.

Jack looked good in the middle and Marmoush had another solid game. A run in the side will do him good. Well done again Nico O’Reilly. Wasn’t tested as such but really got stuck in and didn’t look out of place at all.

Unfortunately, if we’re as unwilling to take our chances then we’re going to get beat by a very shit United team on Sunday. Have to be more intense, take the handcuffs off and go for it.

It was hard work, thankfully I was working tonight, so couldn't make the 340 mile round trip.

Nice to see Oscar back, Jack have a resonable game, Gundogan control a game in midfield, and Ederson have a couple of touches near the end.

Was Leicester xG negative ? It should have been.
Their xG was 0.02 according to BBC site, not sure I have seen a lower one all season. They were painfully poor and based on that performance will struggle next year. We did the bare minimum to win. Avoided injuries, Nico had 90 more minutes, Mcatee a few more, Bobb back and Bernardo, KDB and Foden a night off.

It was a completely boring game and one I'm glad I couldn't get a ticket for. I wouldn't have wanted to have paid to have watched that, it was boring. I was glad I was working whilst it was on as I got paid to work and didn't have to pay to watch the game or even concentrate on it. I'm glad we won of course, but let's be honest we've learnt nothing from beating a very poor team tonight.

Leicester were dreadful. What's the point of playing to get beat 2-0? We have been dreadful at the back so wouldn't you think they'd at least try to put us under some pressure with some pace and direct running? Look at Elanga's goal last night for example.

Football is supposed to be exciting, but I feel sorry for anyone who endured that tonight.
I’m hopeful Pep can get us right for next year but at the minute we are disjointed, predictable, one paced and horrible to watch. We have some very very average players compared to those we’ve been blessed with and yes we dropped to Leicester’s level but second half we just looked toothless.

It's strange when they look so good shooting from range in the pre match warm up
You only have to look at the overall goalscoring stats to appreciate that it's not a one off

Grealish was brilliant at Bournemouth but he should have been more assertive for the move that ended with a flatfooted Gundogan hitting the post.

Same with Doku and Savinho tonight, and even at the end, McAtee should have used Savinho as a decoy and put his foot through the ball.

Instead we've got a whole pack of players quite happy to score 2-3 goals per season

Yes if were planning on building on doku savinho nunes etc then we seem happy to be heading towards a top 6 club.

We can only beat what is infront of us - Leicester were very poor and offered nothing and we certainyl have harder games ahead of us but 3 pts is 3 pts as well

I thought we were good in parts and ok in other parts.....Some great bits of play by Sav but still lacking that end product at times (though got an assist). Gundo was steady but nothng more. Nico OReilly continues to impress but also does come across a bit casual at times....he needs to get that out of his game. Nico G was encourngly at most points on the pitch where out attacks broke down
Doku was his normal brave self but again at times lacking a bit in end product
Marmoush took his chance well and the difference with him as opposed to Haaland is that our pressing game is better - but he aint the big man when it comes to goal scoring.
Gvardiol did well at centre back - again however sometimes too casual for me.

very difficult to see how much we are progressing when the opposition was so poor but it was a comfortable win and maybe thats what we needed.

Just got home. Good first half. Liked seeing Jack play in his so called preferred position. Savinho disappointing again I’m afraid, Marmoush very promising for next year, and I thought both Nico’s were excellent.

Not going to judge the second half as Leicester just sat back and settled for a 2-0 loss.
