Leicester (H) Post-Match Thread

This reminded me of nothing so much as Liverpool at the Etihad last season. Every man on the money, every man doing his duty. In the PL, there's no-one who can live with us when we're like that, and I wonder who in Europe, actually. Leicester are a good team, but we throttled them.
What was the atmosphere like? Did the crowd play its part as twelth man? (Let a friend have my seat. She gets to see all the great performances, grrr...)
I thought we made some decent noise today tbf...

Decent atmosphere today and was pretty full. Normally the last Saturday before Xmas game is a low crowd.

I don't know if I watched a different game to most today but I thought we looked ripe for the taking up until they scored, they were man to man in midfield and didn't look in any danger. The little tactical change of moving Sterling inside as a second #10 alongside KDB and Mendy bombing forward won us the game, Sterling didn't have the best game but he created space for KDB to destroy them because Ndidi didn't know who to pick up.

Mahrez had his best game for us but I'm just meh about him, I just genuinely don't get him. To me it's the Mahrez show, he's not a team player at all.

Really happy for Jesus to get a goal at home too, a true poachers goal as well makes it all the better. He has to be first choice, he offers so much more than Aguero these days with the energy and ability to press. He's never going to be as clinical as Aguero, but who is. We could spend £300m on a striker and still not get anyone like Aguero.
Dinho is talking and directing the whole game
one of our greatest ever players but he is not captain material going forward in the coming seasons . Maybe kdb or Laporte or even someone who has not joined but we need a true leader on that pitch and ferdy is not that leader I’m afraid .

He had a good game for the majority, a really good game in fact. However his lack of pace, intensity and aggression cost us their goal, he should have been busting a gut to stop their player releasing Vardy, but just seemed to wander across and stop 2-3 yards short which gave him time and space to pick out the pass.

His control, movement and weight of passing in that holding role is a joy to watch though, he really benefitted from having Bernardo in there with him.
I actually thought Bernardo really benefitted from having Gundo in there. He really is a fantastic, super player and one we should thank our lucky stars we have

Just a level above a donkey (maybe Blackpool’s finest), way over hyped, can pass square and is efficient but no better than Johnny fucking Evans.
Interesting that when we were interested in Jonny Evans his price was 25 million when we dropped out he was sold for 3.5 million

Posts like this one make my head hurt. Quite unbelievable.

Anyway, outstanding. From the first kick to the last. Mahrez was outstanding, his touch, his technique, everything. That was the Leicester Mahrez and the one I thought we had signed.

Get some consistency into our game now and play like that every week and we will comfortably finish 2nd and with a couple more trophies in the bank.

Jesus over aguero? I don’t think so

A big plus from the game was how much less direct we were today. Our passing was far more sensible; we were far more willing to go back to Ederson than previously.

We waited until we were set until we launched an attack. It meant our players were so much closer together and it meant our counterpressing was so much better.
