Arse have only won five away in the league all season (three of which were against the bottom three) so we can hardly draw any conclusions from their performance against Leicester especially with only 10 for an hour. Stop the long ball over the top and stop Maddison diving and we will be ok.

Hi Marv - you're ( understandably) underplaying the impact of the dippers having to squeeze the Newcastle game in between the two CL Barca games ( only a three day interval either side).
Imagine if we'd had to fit in Leicester in between a two legged tie with Ajax with only two three day breaks.
I think it could have a big impact on their fitness for the game with the Geordies, and maybe some potential injury issues.

Not to mention Messi has only come off the bench in their last two games. Barca also rested Busquets last match and are still on for the treble. Having won La liga already they can play the second team between the two Liverpool matches while Liverpool play away to Newcastle. This will make it much harder for them.

I could see them drop points. Leicester won’t be easy but it’s our final home game of the season with a week’s rest. I expect an energetic win.

Apparently since Rodgers took over, Leicester have taken more points than everyone except City & Liverpool.

But at the same time, the team with the best record outside the top-six since November is Newcastle.

So next week could be interesting.

They've beaten Brighton, Fulham, Burnley, Bournemouth and Arsenal. Teams you would expect someone pushing for 7th place to beat (with the exception of Arsenal who were down to 10 men for much of the game). They've also lost to Watford and drawn against West Ham. Hardly Brazil 1970 (as some people, particularly pundits, have made them out to be, as they did with Burnley and Spurs before them).

So:
Tough game? Yes.
Not to be underestimated? Yes
Winneable if we play anything like what we're capable of? Absolutely.

Even better if Liverpool drop points at Newcastle (unless Rafa does a 'Bielsa' at the weekend) so that the lads know that a win would all but win the title.

Let's do our part in the ground on Monday and get it rocking!

More chance of a horse & cart going over his foot ;)

Hopefully first Barca result will leave klopp with a stick or twist decision to make, and he gets it wrong

We need two more fighting performances. However, I never have trepidation these days about any home match. Nor am I shitting myself at the thought of the Brighton bus parkers. I’d imagine Pep and the lads are in similar mindset.

Absolutely not a given, Ricardo and Vardy are in form and N Didi has the attributes to give us issues in the middle also. Questions for us are how we cope with the pace on the break as much as how we break them down. They'll hound us once we step into their half also, could be one for sane this with a more direct ball an option, or at least making the pitch as wide as possible in possession. Hope Kev is back.

But all we can do now is rest, train and prepare. No way pep or the players will stand for getting this far and then not giving it our all in the final games.

Plus, picture could look very different by next Monday anyway.

I love reading this forum ..don't post very often but have say my nerves are in shreds I'm crapping it come on you blues ...do it

Yeah totally agree, could see it today amongst some of our players sterling especially has looked frustrated and edgy at times last couple of games, simply all down to pressure..

I think he has been brilliant. I actually think he has been in full control of what he is doing. Trying to rile the opposition without getting carded and hoping they bite and it leads to an advantage for us. He got right at Tottenham late in the game and did the same with Burnley. All part ot time wasting and game management. He might look on the edge but I think he is fully in control.

Ok but wolves can still win at anfield they have more than enough and a loud travelling support. No sun loungers will be out. I actually fancy them to win. We beat Leicester and score early at Brighton. Liverpool could fall apart the dream is dead with 70 mins still to play.

I agree except that I suspect most of Wolves' best players will get injured like Newcastle's top scorer just has. Seems to have happened a lot for the scousers this year.

Front 3 will be Berny...Sergio.... Sterling.

Gundogan and Dave in the middle. The only mystery bis whether it's Phil, Kev, or Fernandihno who starts with them.

Not as confident as I would have been had De Bruyne and Fernandinho been fit.

We've got through tougher tests in recent weeks but hopefully we go into this game with the same attitude. They won't roll over and they have players capable of scoring goals.

A repeat of last years scoreline would be nice (& comfortable).
