Thorgan Hazard did exactly the same for Moengladbach tonight with the score at 0-0.
 
De Bruyne first start since back, makes it look so simple as he created his own space edge of the area and lashed it straight into the near corner. The youngsters did well, especially giant Aro in the shoot-out, brilliant that Sergio's back, Kevin my motm... and relax, semi-finals!
 
A wins a win. Not bad considering the state of the pitch and the side. Patchy performance though. Zinchenko needs to fully concentrate all the time if he wants game time although great pen.

Keeper did well although they have to be the worst 4 pens I’ve ever seen from one side in a shootout.

The less said about Sterling’s attempt the better. No more pens for him

Hes on fire & full of confidence so he tried it (shouldn't have though) his penalty at Watford last season was one of the best I've ever seen.

Bet Leicester are sick of the sight of us. Pretty crap game but we are through, plus kev and serg got a decent run out.
 
Team too pedestrian. Stones far too slow at moving ball to be a defensive midfielder. Great to see Augero back. Should give him extened run now over Christmas

Pep has even admitted Sterling can't finish when he has time to think, should never be on penalties.

I’ve a feeling we will get burton,shades of last season beating Leicester on pens,then going on to get Bristol city in semi final,while a London semi final derby looms again as well..
 
Pep was of course going around to all of the players after the final whistle but did anyone else see the “big” hug he gave Jesus.

He obviously really appreciated his energy and application (jumping over that 50/50 in the box aside, that is).
