Have we started our training camp yet for new season?Lot´s of English teams are playing friendlies already.
3pm? on a Saturday? .... OMG that's just so 1980's retro!!Why is the kick-off set for 5pm? - the last train I can get home leaves Paddington at 8:32pm which means that I could probably watch the match and get there but no margin for extra time/penalties or transport issues between Wembley and the station.
It destroys the enjoyment of the match if constantly worrying about the return journey.
What is so bad about 3pm kick-offs?
Do you normally go to home games?
I live in Edinburgh too and would be good to travel with other fans if that could save me a few quid
I don’t think it’s so much that fans love it, more that they have to acknowledge a fait accompli and if they want to watch their favourite (or even non favourite) teams unfortunately they have to watch at the times dictated. The TV companies have us over a barrel.3pm? on a Saturday? .... OMG that's just so 1980's retro!!
Like every match at Wembley seems to be these days, it's a piss take, even the final of the Euro's at 8pm on a Sunday was as fan unfriendly as it could be. For whatever reason the TV companies appear to love Saturday tea-time kick offs so viewing figures must support it and, as usual, any inconvenience to the match going fans is of no consequence.
Its all about TV and the broadcasters know they can get far higher viewing figures at 5pm on a sunday than they can get at 3pm on a saturdayWhy is the kick-off set for 5pm? - the last train I can get home leaves Paddington at 8:32pm which means that I could probably watch the match and get there but no margin for extra time/penalties or transport issues between Wembley and the station.

Why would you care how late you get back? Extra time & pens just means more footie for your money...Wembley is great to go to for a day out if you’re staying over afterwards. Going there and back in a day isnt a great experience and takes a bit of the edge of the day as you’re constantly looking at your watch hoping it doesn’t get to extra time and pens.
That trip back to Manchester after the Villa cup final game was the worst in living memory. It just seemed like a 200 mile tailback on the M1 and M6 caused by accidents roadworks and that ridiculous cross country diversion.
Being the sole driver and driving there and back in one day especially for a Sunday game is knackering especially getting up for work next day. Can’t take the Monday off as the kids have school so have to do it in one day.Why would you care how late you get back? Extra time & pens just means more footie for your money...
It's not a mini rant, @Eccles Blue, it's a perfectly valid opinion, shared by many of us.I don’t think it’s so much that fans love it, more that they have to acknowledge a fait accompli and if they want to watch their favourite (or even non favourite) teams unfortunately they have to watch at the times dictated. Sorry, mini rant over!
