So, I currently have covid and I'm isolating at home until Monday (2nd).

I'm led to believe that you can't do an LFT for 90 days after a positive covid PCR test as it most likely will still say positive, so I can't take one to get me in at Wembley.

I've only had 1 jab (second one was meant to be today - sod's law or what) so that can't get me in.

Am I absolutely snookered here and won't be going, despite looking forward to it for ages, or does anyone know of ways around this? I'd like to think the club/Wembley have planned for situations like this but that might be being a bit optimistic.

Hoping some of you bright sparks might know the best plan of action to getting in. Otherwise I'll have to ring the club and I really, really don't want to do that after reading the season ticket thread.

Cheers
I think you could be in trouble here. Normally there is an additional option of showing recovery from covid (like for international travel) but no mention of that as an option. Guess you’ll have to take the test and pray for negative?

A Few of us going for weekend, It was a big gap between Villa League cup final to Champions League game only two I've seen live in going on 18 month's so not missing a chance of a Wembley day out.
Same here, weekend away with the missus. Only need to make sure phone is charged, other than that no hassle for us at all

You can order lateral flow tests from "Order coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests - GOV.UK" https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
They usually arrive the next day. You self report via the NHS app, which you need to download. Once you reported the result you get an email and text, which is then your proof. All straightforward!

So by the sound of it you can order a test, do it at home and then input the result yourself. What's to stop you not doing the test and inputting a result to say it's negative, or getting someone else to do the test, who you know is negative an inputting the result in your app to say negative. If the test isn't verified by anyone then it's completely pointless and open to people faking the results.

Nothing but then you’d have to be a grade A 18 carat **** to then go to the game knowing you were positive

Cheers mate and @chaddblue people are definitely having conflicting experiences.

I think I'll take both of yours advice and order some LFTs in and take one 48 hours pre game and hope for the best. We surely won't have sold out by then so can get a ticket last minute and drive down.

What an absolute pain in the arse this whole thing is. Covid can get in the bin.

My step daughter tested positive 2 weeks ago. She was told she would test positive for 21 days. however she had a lateral flow today and it showed negative

She went to a 19th birthday party 3 weeks ago. Everyone there said they'd tested negative same day lateral flow test. When her and 4 friends tested positive 5 days later, couple of lads from the party revealed they'd tested positive before the party, but had no symptoms, so went to the party anyway

All mine says is phone the help line and they’ll post a certificate out, but it takes 14 days. I’ve only got my second jab this afternoon so haven’t sent off for anything as yet
You won't class as double jabbed for the charity sheild, it's only after 14 days after your jab, as far as I know, you will probably have to take a test?

Agreed but there's plenty of cunts about to be fair. If that is all you have to do to get around the system then people will take advantage of it.

It’s about minimising the risk. Most people wouldn’t do it, of course a few would. But this way at least those who find out by taking the test and who wouldn’t otherwise know don’t go.
So, 50 positives pre match come in 45 don’t go and 5 cheat the system. So it’s reduced the risk by 90%. Better than nothing and more manageable than making everyone book a formal test

Does anyone know the situation for fans travelling from Dublin? Presumably the EU Covid app is accepted for double vaccinated?

There is no indication that the Scottish and Welsh COVID app will be accepted.

The advice I had from a Public Health works colleague is that you are advised not to have a Covid test for 90 days after having Covid. This happened to my son and his wife who tested positive 2 days before they flew home.

However, thankfully, both tested negative on 2 lateral flow tests they took after their10 day quarantine finished - so it’s possible you’ll test negative . My son also tested negative on a PCR test when he did his 5 day test and release on returning to the UK

The test will be free so I guess the risk is buying the tickets but still not testing negative.

Hope this is of some use.

It is of use cheers. I'll get an LFT on order and just keep my fingers crossed I think. I am going to mention this to the club though as I won't be the only person in this position and it could mean I miss the Norwich game as I can only have my second jab a month after the positive covid test. So with that one as well it will be LFT and pray.
Madness.
