Leicester post match thread

Absolutely it is as it is with the Barca's and Real Madrid's of this world.

You play well and get on top of them and they dive and allow the ref to stop you in your tracks and basically fucking cheat.

Unbelievable that a few on here think that's the sort of pragmatism we need to show.

Yep. Ask any match going red and they'll tell you they've been bored shitless watching that kind of shit.

And Bert Trautmann, and, of course, Dave Ewing.

I watched the highlights and thought that with Shinner Nagasaki's goal, Trautmann would have caught it one handed with his left!
He was my hero - at the time - would have caught it with his left boot- he was that good.
Do you remember - 'Pull up at Dave's- ?- Solid as they come.

Ref watch on Sky Dermott Gallagher broke down the 4 points of the law that could effect an offside decision on Silvas goal,,said only point 3 could possibly apply, did it effect the opponents ability to play the ball ,concluded that it didn't,niether Fuchs or the keeper moved, and the goal was fair
Then Phil Thompson pipes up with ,I thought all four applied,im flabbergasted, went on and on for ages
Thompson didnt offer an opinion on the clear elbow in the face, then handball for a penalty for the Hammers game, wasnt asked for it

I agree with you 100 per cent blue...ref let them dirty fuckers kick shit out of us and gave us fuck all but couldn't wait to give free kicks against us.
It's cheating but done very craftily and Pep needs to start making a shit storm so they think twice about it...can you imagine the GPC letting it happen and no comebacks on the ref...no fucking chance.
We did well to dig in and overcome the 12 men
Some of you guys at this stage seem to be developing a persecution complex about refs. Practically every ref in the country is a cheat and or incompetent and arrives armed with an agenda. The fact is we have not had a great season because we really are not that good at present. Hopefully we can finish 3rd regroup and do better next year

The problem is, even if the the referee's aren't cheating they certainly aren't treating both teams fairly, and it's blatant. Half the time they don't even try and cover it up. When a player enters the field of play expecting the referee to screw us over at some point during the game it must effect the way they play; not in terms of their ability to stick the ball in the net, but the certainly in the combative side of the game. Silva gets kicked the s**t out of him from the first to the last with nothing from the ref, but one of ours puts in a hard but fair challenge and the w**ker with the whistle can't wait to get a card out.

Just watching the game back, seems even one of our own Andy Hinchcliffe as co commentator is reading from the Sky script. Seems he saw that Sterling "Very possibly got a touch there. City have got away with that one"

Watching the replays, thought the ref got most things in the highlights spot on to be fair.
Sterling was not impeding either keeper or defender (who had already shifted his weight away from that direction with no contact from Sterling) and neither of them had any chance of getting within a yard of the ball even if they had been travelling that way to begin.

Their peno - yep, can totally accept that being given, and as for the 'stupid law that should be changed' - suck it up Alan, it's a law there for good reason, perhaps originally a slightly different envisaged manifestation of the outcome, but it still effectively performed its role admirably - preventing the taker from gaining an unfair advantage due to taking multiple touches before the shooting attempt. The fact that the taker is unlucky/poor enough to fall foul of that law in some novel way is their issue. It prevented an unfair advantage from happening, case closed.

Again our main problem is that we (Ya Ya and Vinny apart) have a very limited physical presence and we are coming off worse in the majority of 50-50 challenges. The smaller guy always gets frustrated and reacts and gets penalised. Nothing to do with biased reffing.

Some of the challenges our players have been booked for have been nowhere near as bad as ones that have been dished out to our players. It's not even been a totting up of fouls for our bookings; it's often been first offence.

Re Sterling. Does it not come under 'give the striker the benefit of the doubt'? Therefore if he touched it, or not, it makes no odds?

Also, Sterling got the shit kicked out of him all game. The were very dirty, I knew they were horrible but didn't remember them being that dirty last season

Irritating to hear Leicester and the media making such a big deal of it.
Until the foul on Sane, I think we'd had 6 penalty appeals turned down in the last four matches with them. Nobody made a fuss about any of them.
But the plucky underdogs have got the media on their side and they seem determined to milk it. They even brought up the game against Atletico.
Pathetic but deliberate.

Leicester think they've fucking made it- just another Blackburn , fucking small time , their fans singing your ground is too big for you - whilst only filling a shitty 30,000 stadium and banging bits of fucking cardboard together to make an atmosphere.

I hope they get fucking relegated.

If he was in an offside position and touched it, it was offside. I'm not sure about the MEN quote where Sterling says he tried to miss it: it didn't look like that and it was daft to waft a foot at a shot going in.

Leicester were the dirtiest most cynical team I have seen in years, falling over at every opportunity, feigning injury, moaning at the ref I thought I was watching the Leeds team of old. They have gone from my second favourite team to most hated in record time, I really hope they go down next year! " Ranieri, oh oh oh oh, you stabbed him in the back, you bunch of fucking t****!!" Horrible bastards!

Not sure they were any different last year pulling, pushing, grabbing, and not afraid to leave the boot in. It's called PHYICALITY and
although not a thing of beauty it is often effective. Expect to see a lot more of that both tonight and beyond until we beef up a bit.

I was at both matches and they were much worse this year. I thought a couple of years ago the FA said flair players were going to get better protection to improve the entertainment that now seems to have gone by the wayside.

Well said
