Leicester Vs City Post Match Thread

The way MDM is playing, we should be able to cope. Dzeko's injury is more alarming since we now have Pozo as our only striker.

lol can we apply for one of those emergency loans?

Definitely an ugly but effective win. Felt like we were a machine just about to break at the end there, with so many injured and tired, but did just enough. These injuries are a problem while Chelsea seem to get through nearly every match unscathed!

Pozo not really ready for this level yet but would probably perform better with a strike partner. I thought our back line + Fernando + Nasri and Silva were good.

Knew it would be tough today - despite some idiots thinking we should change most of the team. Not the best of performances but without any attacking threat we were always going to find it difficult to create.

Another hour for pozo but the kid looks well out of his depth at this moment in time. Here's hoping we can keep jovetic fit til jan.

Unfortunately we will be limited in our spending in jan, which will rule out big signings so txiki will need to get creative

Poor performance. Good result.

Strange decision to play Kompany under the circumstances but hopefully he won't be out too long.

Not affter a fight here but why is it strange to play arguably the worlds best centre half and club captain?

Yes Mangala and MDM did well midweek but we have no idea of their fitness after and maybe MDM was knackered or carrying a very slight knock. Or the gaffer just wanted his captain out there and he was fit to play but unfortunately picked up another knock. Shit happens and no amount of post game " why did he play or risk him" gets anyone anywhere or proves anything.

Fantastic 3 points away from home, exactly the kind of circumstances that normally trip us up too.

Come on city grind out a few more wins and we could be top on New Year's Day !!!!!

Got away with this one. 3 points. Next.

We got away with nothing, we ground out a win with the current situation regarding injuries it was a bloody good result

My feed only started work on 44 mins but from what I saw, we were never in real danger of conceding and there was nothing lucky about our goal.

It was though painful viewing and I thought the players game management in the final furlong was again poor. We made brain dead decisions and gave away soft free kicks; with the players we had out there, we should have done a better job of playing keep ball.

I can forgive other aspects of a below our best performance, given the tough away trip and injury issues.

Great result, poor attacking performance. Very dissapointed with our midfield today, we failed to keep the ball and move up the pitch in the way we usually do, so really struggled to create anything as a result. Pozo struggled, but was given some of the worst service you'll ever see, mainly left to chase long balls and charge down the keeper. On the few occasions we actually worked the ball up the pitch and got further up he looked much more useful.

No width at all, Sagna is worse than useless when we have it and looked very slow without it. His only use seems to be for us to pump long balls for him to try and head on, which he does surprisingly well. Very dissapointed with Yaya as well, who really never got going at all and didn;t allow us to dominate the game.

Only important thing though is an excellent result, with Leicester never really even having a chance. Mangala MOTM, bossed everything.

You can put that down to tiredness IMO, but also it must be hard to have your game plan all worked only for the main striker to go off injured we had to make it up as we went along

That is a top top 3 points against a side scrapping for their lives. And achieved after a tough but brilliant away win in Rome which is never easy. I do feel it was a game at least 2 early for Vinnie but I am sure Pellers was confident he was fine but it's not as if we were desperate to get him back as MDM and Mangala are playing well.

The entire defensive set up did very well for us today which is why Joe didn't have a shot to save ( I don't remember one anyway) The only slight worry were the free kicks we gave away but generally I thought we managed the game well. And I don't get the moans about Yaya. Maybe a fraction slow moving the ball but I thought he gave a disciplined performance when we needed it and was in shape as we defended and did his job.

We would all love to have battered Leicester with fast free flowing football but today wasn't one of those days and instead we got a good champions away win.
