I think at some point we should make a bid for him, maybe offer Boyata on loan as part of the deal. He would greatly strengthen us down the left and give us a better attacking outlet as well.

There is a rumour that SWP is going to Everton for £5 Million, so wonder if he will be thrown in as part of the deal, or might just be separate. (its in the Twitter rumour thread)

I can't see Everton ever wanting to do business with us again after the Lescott saga.
Also, if we did get him, we'd end up paying a price for him which would be way too much and he'd never live up to it, and he'd probably have the fans on his back as a result. I'd rather give Kolarov another full season, a bit harsh to try and replace someone after just one season in a new league in a new country. He might well come good next season.

I remember thinking Bridge would be a great signing, he wasn't. I'd be slightly concerned Baines might go the same way.

I hope so, I rate him as the best left back in the league.

With mancinis record of brining in defenders from outside the prem league and them not working out, I think he'd go with the safe choice of someone whos already here.

I know it's all about opinions but as long as Ashley Cole's about, their needn't be any discussion lol

He may be a 1 season wonder but this season he was far better than Cole imo.

If anyone should be getting the hump about the Lescott deal it's us. We did nothing wrong apart from paying £10M over the odds. It was Moyes who stirred up all the ill feeling and even had a pop in a match programme after the deal had gone through.

But I don't think Everton see it that way though, Moyes thinks/wants everybody to believe we behaved disrespectfully with regards to our pursuit of Lescott and therefore, I just can't see him sanctioning any transfers to us while he is in charge.
And if he does, it would be for a very inflated price (e.g £16-£20m+) and he wouldn't be worth it, his performances would not be to that standard, why pay that sort of money when we already have Kolarov, and haven't got rid of Bridge yet.

Do we need another LB?
Kolarov wasnt amazing last season but then we cant have 11 MoM's per game, he did ok, admitted he can and will do better, why spend for spendings sake, is Baines the answer?

With Boatang leaving we need more depth at LB so rotation, and occasionly one could be pushed forward as a left winger.
