His agent is apparently flying to England to discuss the transfer... sounds promising.

Kompany, Otamendia, Mangala, Stones, Bonucci, Denayer.

Do we really need that?

Are we actually going 3 at the back? Or is one of these gonna be utilised elsewhere?

Absolute madness 50 million on a 30 year old cb and don't give e this bullshit he's Italian, serie A is played at a snails pace and for the record I do think he's world class but not for the hassle it'd be

1. He's not 30.
2. If he's world class that indicates he is class outside of Serie A, which he is and would be.
3. If Pep wants him for 50m then he's worth it.

Solid defence ... A lot of nil nils there

Fuck me, you are negative.

Doubt we'll have that many defenders, Mangala probably will be gone if we sign Bonucci and Stones.

Mangala would be shown the door and one of Otamendi or Denayer would be. Unless we play 3 at the back, then just Mangala i'd assume.

*£42 million for a 29yr old*

A player who are new manager (generally considered the best in the world at what he does) views as one of his favourite players in the world and one of the best in his position.

Yes, Serie A is slower than the PL, so is almost ever other league in the world. Also, lets not kid ourselves, Serie A isn't the same stodgy league it was 5 or so years ago, when the attacking options were so ineffectual they were practically impotent, there are some pretty serious attacking players to deal with in Italy these days.

If he signs, and I guess it is still a pretty big if, he will be one of the most effective defenders to have ever played in England.

We need a leader at the back and Kompany simply isn't reliable enough. Bonucci's ability to spot a pass from the back is second to none. Could you imagine signing Bonucci, Kroos, Sane, Peres, Nolito and Gundogan in one window?!
