Interesting that City haven't yet denied this, they were really quick to deny Aubameyang when DiMarzio broke the story?

Probably soon though

Completed:
Ilkay Gundogan - £20m
Nolito - £13.8m
Oleksandr Zinchenko - £1.7m

£35.5m

Provisional:
John Stones - £40m - £50m (so, £45m)
Leroy Sané - £35m - £40m (so, £37.5m)
Leonardo Bonucci - £40m - £50m (so, £45m)

£127.5m

Total: £163m (a club record for a summer transfer window and £9m more than our total spend for the 2010/11 season under Roberto Mancini).
Just for comparison, the top 5 most expensive summer windows by club are:

1. Real Madrid, summer 2009: £195m. Biggest transfer: Cristiano Ronaldo, £85m
2. Manchester United, summer 2014: £146m. Biggest transfer: Angel di Maria, £59.7m
3. Real Madrid, summer 2013: £142m. Biggest transfer: Gareth Bale £85.3m
4. Manchester City, summer 2009: £140m. Biggest transfer: Carlos Tevez, £47m
5. Liverpool, summer 2014: £117m. Biggest transfer: Adam Lallana, £25m

We would jump into 2nd place this summer if we were to complete our projected transfers.

Bloody hell Liverpool heavily invested to finish mid table, they may as well have not bothered.

Bonnucci must have given us the go ahead to bid? That's how it's done these days right?

Add in Rulli and Bruno Peres and we might get close to Real.

He is the best CB in world football.
But naah let's give Mangala and Denayer
chances over him.
Recently turned 29 and at his peak.
Hope we push for it if a deal can be done.
Stones-Bonucci combo could be class.

As a negotiating position is it not beneficial to have a high profile alternative of quality (if not comparable age wise) in the public domain - I'm referring to this as maybe a tactic to also help in any negogiations with other CBs we might be looking at?

what drives me crazy is insisting on buying 2 CB - stones + bonucci - !!!!!
why ?????
Kompany - utterly unreliable (was it ten PL games last season?)
Mangala - looks okay, nothing more
Otamendi - looks amazing one minute then hot headed the next
Denayer - looks average

Mangala is crap at the moment
Kompany is unreliable
Otemendi is one CB
Denayer is a rookie
Stones is reliable with pl exp
Bunnuci isn't going to happen realistically but again reliable and very good.
4 comps with the first four options isn't enough imo in terms of numbers, quality and reliability.

We would sell Denayer and one of Mangala and Otamendi if we signed these two
