does Gabriel deal put a spanner on this? would be Gabriel, Marlos, Sterling, Sane, KDB, Nolito, Silva as attacking mids/wide players, long term?

That was my thinking as well mate....Gabriel and Sane seem to play similar positions but with Gabriel rumoured to be staying at his club until end of season, hopefully this wont impact Sane talks.....

Honestly, flapping and fussing is actually really fun.
With that said, I have no doubt he's going to sign with us before the end of the month.

That's ok, then, but is he gonna win the Golden Boot this season. If he hasn't scored a hat-trick before the end of August I shall have to don my "Keep Calm and Don't Flap" t-shirt!

Pep: "There’s a difference between City and Schalke and it’s quite big, but I don’t know what will happen in the coming weeks and months."

1) Now confirmed beyond all doubt whatsoever we want him.

2) There is always a fucking difference between clubs on the price of a player.

3) Player wants to leave for us.

Only a question of time IMO.

Agree mate,also....surely a player agrees with the club who are after him before he tells his current club he wants to leave...no?

The initial fee, which was agreed a while ago, is around €44m, but we had to agree to some fairly substantial add-ons. These are what held the deal up apparently.

Ric, after the news of Gabriel Jesus signing for around 27mil.....you think this is still happening? cheers mate...

Not trying to hijack this thread but since a few think the news might be linked I'll let the player clarify

He's playing more as a second striker now, not an out and out winger. So I don't think the news is linked to Sané

I get the feeling we're going for a front four who will ghost around the striker spot and be a nightmare to try and mark.

Viva la revolution

To be fair while he's moved to a striker position - he's not going to play there much for us is he? Aguero and KDB would be first choices for the striker and then the player off the striker.

So I expect he'll play all over the place based on who else Pep happens to be picking for this weeks game, or who's injured etc.

Sané would be similar - he's capable of playing across the front 3.

So they overlap, they just shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

If Pep is asking for a blank slate then I wouldn't be so sure that KDB just jumps ahead of a more natural goal scorer like Gabriel Jesus. KDB's best position is through the middle as a 10, that's how you get the most out of him. Jesus was wide at first but moving towards ST has shown no drop off in quality and he's scoring more now. Jesus' willingness to move wherever he's needed to help the team win should see him get a lot of games than just if someone is injured. This is why it's been reported that he's not interested in the Barca's/Madrid's because he's not just some player you stash away, he's looking to develop noob and not be in someone's shadows.
Let's just hope we can get both Jesus and Sané in and look foward to an entertaining future with so many options to choose from potentially
