Complete and utter bullshit about his buy out clause,do people think city might just have asked Leroy or his agent what it was set at ??
Too suggest city have just learnt this is complete nonsense in my opinion

Nowhere has anyone suggested City just learned of the release clause or its value.

Bild has put it out there today that his release clause is lower than previously thought, implying it would come as some sort of shock to city and play a part as to why the negotiations were taking so long

No.

BILD has put it out there that his release cluase is lower than previously though - nowhere do they suggest City didn't know about it.

In fact, it's implied that the reason we won't go to €50m is because we know the release clause is only €33m next season and think that €42m is a fair price taking that into account.

I don't know how you managed to infer that BILD are claiming City were in the dark, they certainly didn't imply it.

If the dear departed Swales were negotiating then I could believe the tale that we would not know about such a thing as a 'release clause' and would pay 50% over the price. But with these Spanish cookies doing the business? No stone is unturned.

Love this kind of reply, we may have a difference of opinion but this a solid reply. The forum isn't what it was, hence I hardly post any more but replies like this make visits worthwhile.

Bild tend to report briefs and reports from reputable journos. In this country The Mirror, Sun and Guardian get City steers it seems. But the Guardian and Mirror are most reliable when it comes to us. Joyce gets Liverpool etc. But Bild and Kicker seem to have a more focused set of reports as a collective rather than spread out. Like John Cross and Lewis share employment at the Mirror yet Mullock is the only decent writer, Cross is Wengers mouthpiece and predicts stories using bits and bobs which result in the paper not being accurate. Lewis is just shite but a decent bloke it seems.

Agree about the development of this forum. You tend to get a few good discussions at time albeit a disagreement in opinion.

Ever since we climbed our way to the top of English and in a lesser extend European football, we are often linked with anyone able to put on a pair of footballshoes (whatever colour they pick). I tend to think I learned to pick out the moments when rumors become a serious note. And I try to reason why certain transfers are bound to happen or fail. And yes, I agree that every club or manager has his connection within the media (although I sometimes think everyone except City or the people within). The media print a lot of dosh when it comes to football, but are often used by club or agents to get things going or moving. It works both ways.

17m€ spread for 1 season could be 'fair' if there was a risk that Sané could also move to Bayern or Real next year. I guess City must have some kind of commitment from Sané to evaluate that risk. And if City have alternatives for the upcoming season we could relax and sign him next year on the clause.
But we would have to be very sure going this way.

Now Schalke's new DOS Heidel said his price is 50m€ and he is not the guy to go down. Take it or leave it. He would kind of lose his face if the price end up at 42m€. Schalke fans - who would be happy with 50m€ and seeing Sané NOT going to Bayern - would be furious if Heidel would lose this game of poker.

I am sure the deal will be done by next Friday IMO and it will be interesting to see the details if disclosed at all.

40 mil euros with add ons upto 50 ish perhaps, as with Sterling deal. Then we don't have to pay full whack in one window & Shalke get the money, if he meets his targets.
