This is the way I see it happening. Sane has told us he will come next year, that's a risk, but Pep's talked to the player, and we're fine holding out and letting him develop. I'm fine telling Schalke to fuck off and we'll take our chances with what we have and get Jehsus in come January.
I get the logic here Jimmy but it's almost time to stop being fucked around with and taken for fools in the maket. We're entering a new era where players will opt to choose us over the Rags, Bayern, Barca, and Real if it suits them best. I'm willing to take the risk and trust Sane and call their bluff. I'd actually rather us tell them to fuck off this year and ricend the 42m offer and prove a point. It sure would be a powerful statement from our end.
To summarize I'm fine anything the club ends up doing, pay the 42, pay the 50, or tell them to fuck off and we'll try again next year. I just hope everyone contains the flapping and looks at the bigger picture if he doesn't come.
Genuine question, with things looking like they might be stalling in Sane transfer talks, could signing Gabriel Jesus reduce the need for us to meet Sane's valuation? 32mil euros for Jesus, isnt cheap for a 19 year old from Palmeiras, so I'm guessing we might have big plans for him, especially if he could still join us in Jan. Both seem similar type of players so if Jesus deal is done, maybe we no longer feel under pressure to meet Schalke's asking price?

Very odd that they are possibly willing to hold out a year to take less money for him. We should just pay the 50 if we think he is that good and want him that badly.
But why does it feel like all of the Bundesliga teams, maybe with the exception of BVB, seem to be OK with the fact that they are a feeder team for Bayern and almost willing to help them (lower fee next year for Bayern to possibly sweep in). Its almost as if they all know they have no chance of beating Bayern for the title and are OK with just support Bayern in winning Europe.
