Sterling picks up the rebound, and instead of just blasting it, he brings it under control, faces up the defender, throws a dummy to open up a yard of space and buries it.

That's the definition of composure.

Composure is slotting the ball away with confidence when you're one v one with the keeper, and not blowing the chance.

There are around 4 times as many examples of Sterling blowing such chances as there are of him confidently putting them away.

The most recent coming from about 8 yards out with a gaping open goal in an England shirt a matter of weeks ago.

Not writing the lad off, but let's not pretend he's a composed goalscorer, it's the weakest part of his game.

Composure is keeping your head in the box.

Him misplacing a first time shot form a ball he had to run full speed to get on the end of does not make him uncomposed.
