I said the same thing, Can't really think of a player other than Grealish that travels with the ball trying to skip past a few players, I hope he doesn't change his game it's rare it happens now unfortunately.Yeah interesting point. Makes me think how a young hugely talented player with great skill like Foden doesn’t seem to be encouraged to play centrally and try and get on the ball around the edge of the box to make things happen. Instead there seems a fear he might lose the ball and is played more often wide left to basically graft. Also a team like England so desperately lacking a player for years who’d receive the ball in tight spaces and happily carry it forwards. Finally have one in Grealish and until very recently it seemed the manager was doing everything to not include him in the starting 11.
He had a phenomenal period with us but after injury he was simply not as effective, whatever the reason. It remains to be seen what he will achieve and he gave us some truly wonderful moments but he did not want to stay. I support the players who are here, not those who have left, even though we will never forget some of those who have gone.If it’s any consolation, he’s taking pelters from Bayern fans on Twitter for his performance tonight. Fair to say they’ve been underwhelmed so far.
There was some quiet periods for him at city for sure, but the second half of 16/17, the full 17/18 and 2/3rds of 18/19 he was absolutely brilliantHe had a phenomenal period with us but after injury he was simply not as effective, whatever the reason. I think he only played one game after his injury? So you’re right he wasn’t as effectiveHe had a phenomenal period with us but after injury he was simply not as effective, whatever the reason.
